Evil Lord Sumoo terrorizes Ancient Japan and two brothers decide to fight back: Damage and Kan. Kan is put under an evil spell and players take on the role of samurai Damage to rescue his brother and rid the country of Sumoo's influence. The side-scrolling fighting takes places in a burnt forest, the edge of the forest, village ruins, a temple and more. The ever-smiling samurai Damage can crouch, slash with his sword or attack with a kick and both actions can also be performed while jumping. Clever enemies will block however and Damage has different blocking stances to fend off enemy attacks.

At the top of the screen, the amount of lives (3 at the start), health bars and portraits are shown. Characters constantly fire one-liners at each other and these are shown at the bottom of the screen. After completing a level, it becomes available in a level select screen. Once defeated, all enemies and bosses are also available in Battle Arena levels to go one-on-one. There is also a training area where the controls are explained. In later levels, projectiles such as fireballs are also fired towards Dan and dodging becomes a vital skill.

Despite the limited amount of moves, the game requires quick reflexes to attack and defend properly.

Damage San J2ME Watch out when enemies fire their head at you.
Damage San J2ME Let's hope this blocking stance also works against the cheesy one-liners.
