Description

In Jade Empire, you take on the role as a young martial artist, who is nearing the end of his training with his mentor, Master Li. While training, Master Li gets into a confrontation with an enemy, and sooner than later, you are sent on a mission to find Master Li, find out what happened, and try to uncover the mystery surrounding the ever-growing evil coming from the Jade Empire.

The game takes place in a mythical Ancient China. Throughout the game, you'll learn new fighting styles, which can help you against different foes. You will also be able to utilize magic, having access to offensive and defensive spells.

You'll encounter many enemies, some friends, and a whole bunch of in-between. Jade Empire features over twenty hours of voice recording to further the story and reveal information to you. You'll traverse country-side, mountainous areas, villages, towns, and eventually, the heart of the Jade Empire itself.

As in BioWare's previous game, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, you are free to play the game anyway you wish, choosing to be an evil warrior, an angelic good guy, or an in-between. Most quests have a good and evil way of completing, which will change your alignment, change how people view you, and will determine the ending you get.

The Limited Edition adds a new default playable character, monk Zeng, with the exclusive Monk Spade fighting style. It also contains a bonus disc with a Making of Jade Empire video and demo versions of Forza Motorsport, Conker Live & Reloaded, and MechAssault 2

Trivia

Even though many high-profile actors lent their voices to the game, the majority of the actors used in the game were actually actors from the Edmonton theatre community, the Canadian city where Bioware is located. It should be noted that there exists a certain amount of overlap in the case of such actors as Nathan Fillion, a well-known television star who happens to have been born in Edmonton.
