This is rebellion, the creators of AVP? What?? Muddy control, absurd AI and incredibly frustrating play add up to an extremely flat race that the supposedly inferior Virtua Deluxe circles around.

It's nice to see a driving sim that brings some fresh ideas to the genre. However, unfulfilled potential and repetitive racing keep this one from taking the trophy.

The fact that you've got a good-sized city to drive through is mildly impressive, but the trouble is that the polygons are so large and poorly shaded, that it's impossible to tell how close you are to anything or where the hell you are half the time. The two-player split scree mode only emphasizes the visual problem. Hard Drivin' for the Genesis can be picked up for about half what you'd pay for Club Drive and you'd enjoy it a whole lot more. Get the picture?

The graphics are chunky and the control is unbearable. The car's engine sounds like it was digitized from a fruit fly! Being forced to watch non-stop episodes of The Love Boat for a week straight is preferable to playing Club Drive for one hour.

I could go on, but let's be honest, very few people are actually going to play Club Drive anyway. It requires a Jaguar console, which only a handful of modern gamers are going to purchase, and its clearly been defined well before this review as a title not worth getting. The snippier of reviewers (those that like to make you believe games like this are entirely without merit) are missing out on some of the worthy aspects, like the creative levels and the rewind feature. Unfortunately, their final scores are still correct. There's no longevity to this game; there wasn't even when it was released. If you still enjoy playing it, then it's for other reasons (like nostalgia) that can't be attributed to the code on the cart. And I can pretty much guarantee that the average, modern gamer won't turn this cart on more than five times in their lives. There's just not enough to do.

If only Club Drive allowed you the option of leaving the cart itself in the junkyard when you get there...

Alleine würde mich aber keine Macht der Welt dazu bringen das Spiel noch mal anzufassen. Zumal es für Solo-Spieler nicht mal vernünftige Spielmodi bietet. Das vielleicht schlechteste Jaguar Spiel ever.

The one-player racing offers NO computerized opponents. Can you believe it? Who are you supposed to race? I prefer to call this mode "driving around". The "collect the dots" mode is pure crap. So how's the two-player split screen mode? FORGET IT! The horrendous framerate and poor control are torture to endure. And speaking of torture, I should also mention something about the "music". Where did they get that god-awful, vomit-inducing noise? From a circus? You can select several tunes, and each one is just as bad as the next.
