The best way to describe JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is that it's a strange and entertaining jaunt into the realm of fighting. If an attempt at something different while keeping the true spirit of Capcom fighting is what you're looking for then JoJo is for you. Have fun!
I find it hard to class JoJo's Bizarre Adventure in the same category as the likes of Soul Calibur and Street Fighters Zero 3, but I can't help but enjoy the thing. It's probably going to be a bit of a sleeper hit at the end of the day, with those who don't play it not really caring, but those who do really enjoying it. I'd give it a rental at the very least. If you've got Soul Calibur and are looking for something new, give it a try!
So if you're into your 2D fighters, but have begun to grow tired of the countless Street Fighter spin-offs and bad home conversions, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure offers fine-tuned Capcom quality with a unique storyline and great control. That alone is worth its weight in gold. This one belongs in every fighting-game fan's library.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is a fairly decent package for the 2D fighting fan. It brings a bunch of new ideas to the table, and combines them with some genuine style and sharp character design. The gameplay's relative lack of depth will hurt the long term lifespan of the game, but it's still an unusual and entertaining cross between Street Fighter and the versus series.
A little too bizarre for its own good - despite trying to do something original. It just ends up being mediocre. Is that really what you want? IS IT?
This isn’t just another feather weight two-dimensional beat-’em-up, this is something that has crept out of the Twilight Zone, cunningly disguised itself as a straight forward fighter and will probably shock the living daylights out of anyone playing it. Yes, this is truly bizarre.
Street Fighter purists might be turned off by the game's rough spots and relatively shallow combat, but it's certainly Capcom's most creative fighter to date - not to mention a lot of fun. If you're looking for a really cool change of pace from the numerous play-alike fighting games out there, or just want a taste of what the future might hold for the Street Fighter series, this is your game.
You know now if you're a JoJo gamer or not. If you read Anoop's nunya-Japanese import reviews on IGNdreamcast, it may be right for you. If you scan anime chat sites daily, this may be your game. If you loved MTV's The Maxx, JoJo is your kind of guy. And if you're thinking right now that it's either Street Fighter, Tekken, or bust, then I need say nothing more to you.
Fighting-game fans will either love or hate this game's weird characters and attacks, so rent before buying.
Overall, I really liked JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and would highly recommend it to die-hard Capcom fans. On the other hand, those of you who are big fans of the original and Street Fighter Alpha series may not like the new gameplay style. What made the game for me was the original gameplay style mixed with the old, otherwise I probably would have given it a significantly lower grade for being unoriginal.

I'd be lying if I said I "get" JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, because it really doesn't make sense to me on any level. Still, it's one of the more interesting fighting games I've played in some time. And with 2D fighters becoming such as rare commodity as of late, this unorthodox title is looking better all the time.
Just like Capcom’s other big title of the moment, StreetFighter 3: Double Impact, you get two games on the one disc– Jojo’s Venture and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. The problem, though, is that the differences between the two are minimal and with the addition of more characters in the second game, you’ve got to question why the first is even included. Again, we think that Capcom might have done it just for that added ‘value’ factor. Ho hum. In the long run, it’s all a bit hit and miss – in trying to create something a bit different, Capcom seems to have proved just how stale games like this are getting. It’s not that we hate 2-D beatem- ups; after all, we can hardly wait for Marvel Vs Capcom 2 later in the year. No, the problem here is that no matter how hard we tried, we just couldn’t enjoy this one. At all. Is it just us getting old? Somehow, we doubt it very much…
