If you dislike the Dark Alliance style games, you probably won’t find yourself liking Justice League Heroes. For everyone else Justice League Heroes will probably prove to be an enjoyable experience.

Overall I'd say that the game is fun to play; it's engaging, it's dealt with the DC license in an acceptable way and it manages to make you want to kick a little butt while wearing tights.

It's been a long time coming, but if nothing else, Batman and Superman are finally in a good video game. After the travesties that were Superman 64, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, and the almost-there-but-not-quite Batman Begins, DC Comics' top poster boys can finally rest easy knowing that they both have at least one title under their belts that's great on its own merits, Justice League Heroes.

Although the superheroes from the DC universe have starred in their fair share of video games, none of them have fared particularly well. In fact, some of their digital exploits have gone down in video game history as some of the worst games ever made. Take Superman for the Nintendo 64 and Aquaman for the PS2. Shazam, were those bad.

Justice League Heroes is a surprisingly good game for such a worn out genre. The story mode is more in-depth than it has ever been before and the voice acting bypasses it's predecessor with ease and the character roster is staggeringly good. People looking for some brawling action and multiplayer fun might consider Marvel:Ultimate Alliance, however Justice League Heroes is a more considered package on a whole, especially for some good single-player fun.

All in all, Heroes is a relatively simple game that, at times, feels like X-Men Legends with DC character models. Still, the chance to take control of some of the most beloved superheroes on the planet is one that you just can't pass up. The varied missions, awe-inspiring superpowers and the RPG-lite aspects combine to make Heroes an enjoyable superhero romp that finally brings a little respectability the digital DC Universe.

JLH is a good game as far as superhero games go; it just feels underwhelming and bland at times -- especially when compared to the competing Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Still, Justice League Heroes is still a good game if you are a DC fan or someone looking for another portable dungeon hack.

With the formation of the famous Justice League barely coming together in the CW’s Smallville and a fantastic animated series bringing in new fans, it was just a manner of time the Xbox would get a game featuring DC Comics’ finest collection of heroes. Justice League Heroes brings together our favorite heroes to fight against a new growing threat that just happens to include a roster filled with some well-known super villains in a game that might feel like a dungeon-crawler with super powers instead of swords and sorcery.

It's a familiar formula, but Justice League Heroes offers something interesting by blending dungeon-crawling convention with comic book heroics.

While it shares a lot of its components with Snowblind's past dungeon crawlers, Justice League Heroes has a pretty unique flavor. It flexes the strengths of the DC universe quite well. Although there's undoubtedly some bellyaching over stuff like the inclusion of Zatanna and the omission of Justice League anchors like Captain Marvel, there is a respect for the source material that should satisfy fans. The character customization gives you enough freedom in shaping the heroes without betraying the characters, and at about 10 hours, it's a healthy-sized adventure. The game does both the comic book and the dungeon-crawler parts well enough that it has the potential to turn fans of one into the other.

Justice League Heroes has plenty of extra reasons to revisit the game, although ultimately it seems a little light compared to its most comparable competition, Marvel Ultimate Alliance. If you're into comics then you have to check out Justice League Heroes to see how the other side of the comic world rolls and hopefully this marks the beginning of the gaming chronicles of the Justice League.

Justice League Heroes redeems the failure of the DS version and delivers pretty much the same experience that you get on the PS2 and Xbox versions of the game - with a few caveats that we will detail later on. Small issues aside the PSP version follows the exact same storyline, features all of the same locales and features all the same characters from the popular DC Comics superhero group including Superman, Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter and Zantanna. The gameplay is every bit as engaging as its console counterparts, offering plenty of action, character customization and super powerful moves like Flash's patented pinball attack!

Justice League Heroes never should have come out on the PS2 and Xbox. It's a crummy "old generation" button smashfest. It was boring and it sucked. But the Superfriend will never die - the PSP version of Hereos is a good game and I liked it, so all of you disappointed DC nerds perk up and give the game another try.

The Marvel Comics universe certainly does not have a shortage of superhero teams and while the X-Men stands out among the more powerful groups like The Avengers or the Fantastic Four, it is DC Comics’ Justice League that is the true force to be reckoned with since the roster does include the likes of Batman and Superman. Unfortunately, when it comes to games, Marvel beats out DC with games such as X-Men Legends and the recent Marvel Legends. Thankfully, we finally get a game featuring our favorite superhero team with Justice League Heroes but is this the game fans of the super team have been waiting for?

The sad truth is, despite it's excellent gameplay, its brevity combined with its $40 price tag make it hard to recommend Justice League Heroes to anyone but die-hard DC fans or those folks really dying for a two-player dungeon crawl. It's definitely a fun game while it lasts, and as a budget title it would be a lot more palatable, so keep your eyes peeled for when this one winds up in the $20 bin. Hopefully the inevitable sequel will have a bit more heft. And if there is a God who is not a superhero hater, it will totally feature a Blue Beetle and Mr. Miracle team. Man that would be sweet...

On the plus side, this is the first game that successfully makes Superman a fun character to play. Justice League Heroes’ greatest strength lies within its diverse cast of characters and the developer’s ability to make each of these heroes feel different from one other. Green Arrow is a great ranged character. Flash’s lightning quick movement is used to create some truly amazing combos. Green Lantern’s ring can provide much needed protection. Every one of these leaguers is handled with great care. It’s a shame that the rest of the game doesn’t embody the same quality – which is quite shocking given developer Snowblind Studios’ pedigree with this genre and games like Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance. Justice League Heroes won’t set the world on fire, but it does show that there’s great video game potential emanating from the DC universe. Not even the strongest man on earth can save a mediocre game.

If you're a huge fan of the Justice League, you may find more entertainment in this title than someone not affiliated with the heroes. On the other hand, true fans will be the ones most likely to become frustrated by Justice League Heroes' shortcomings. It really does come down to what you're looking for, and what you're willing to put up with in order to play through the game.

There is a lot to like in Justice League Heroes, especially if you have a friend who doesn't mind spending some time beating up crazy enemies with you. The game doesn't push the system to its limits and it can be a bit on the repetitive side, but it's also a lot of fun in the same way that all of those classic dungeon crawlers are fun. Hopefully this is just the beginning of the Heroes franchise, if this game is any indication then there's a lot of potential for future installments. If you're the type of person that has always wanted to play with Superman, Batman and all of DC's other classic characters then this game is right up your alley, you could do a lot worse than Justice League Heroes.

The PSP version of Justice League: Heroes is an excellent handheld version of the game that leapt onto the home consoles earlier this year, save for one glaring omission: A lack of wireless multiplayer.

When it comes to superhero games, characters in the DC universe get the crappy end of the stick. Solo efforts from both Batman and Superman have generally failed to live up to the potential of their respective franchises. So color us surprised when the ensemble, Justice League Heroes, turned out to be a damn decent little brawler

It's hard to imagine just what it is exactly that comics have to do in order to become culturally esteemed. Despite a Pulitzer Prize for Art Spiegleman's Maus, the story of his father's survival of Auschwitz that brims with tears and sad importance; despite the consistently back-breaking and astonishing prose of Alan Moore's twenty years of output From Hell to Watchmen; despite the tender, broken honesty of Steven Seagal's wrestle with Superman in It's a Bird, or the sub cultural incisiveness of our own Kieron Gillen's Phonogram (we have to be nice about that one else, if the opening chapters are anything to go by, he'd rape us with magic) they're still ranked lower than blue cheese on the leaderboard of humanity's creative output. Being several places higher than videogames probably isn't much comfort.

The Justice League of America has existed since the 1960s, and has been combating world-threatening villains for years, teaming up to take on the threats that even Batman and Superman can't handle alone. While comic books have been plodding along for all these years, with high points like Frank Miller's Dark Knight at the peak of the medium's storytelling possibilities, it's been the super heroic transition to other entertainment mediums that has brought the capes and costumes to the forefront of the public eye. The Justice League animated series is just one example, and for many gamers, it will be the reason why they are interested in Snowblind and Warner Bros. Interactive's latest release, Justice League Heroes, for the Xbox and PS2.

The Justice League is a team of all the coolest super heroes from the DC universe. Okay well I don't really know that for sure, maybe there's some really niche super hero out there that is cooler than everyone else in the Justice League, but let's face it, the Justice League has the most popular DC heroes. Everyone from Superman to the Green Lantern, if you've heard of em, they're probably in the League. So with such a cool team of heroes, it should be easy to make a fantastic game featuring each one of them. After all, you've got Superman, the best, most indestructible super hero ever; Batman, the moodiest hero this side of Gotham; Wonder Woman, the Amazonian princess(and who, frankly, is very hot); and the list goes on. Well, the guys at Snowblind at least did an admirable job putting a list of heroes together, but unfortunately the gameplay just doesn't hold a candle to its all-star cast.

Superhero games are fantastic…at least in concept. What could be better than gallivanting around city streets as your favorite comic-book hero (or heroine) mercilessly handing out beatings? As it turns out, plenty. In fact, you’d be hard pressed to find a functioning superhero game that surpassed any of the others in its genre (while Spider-Man 2 is a free-roaming game, it paled in comparison to the likes of the GTA series).

It's a genre that may never be more popular than it is right now – when you see it, you know what you're getting and most players are already decided. But if games like this are going to keep popping up, they'll need to offer new ideas. Even so, JLH is a lot of fun, especially if you're a fan of the major characters.

Justice League Heroes isn't a particularly clever, refined, or beautiful game (indeed, some of the character art in cut-scenes looks pretty terrible). However, the mindless fun steals time and, even though it's a little short, it'll feel all the shorter thanks to the relentless pace of action and the well-balanced and implemented character management system.

Justice League Heroes is not perfect, and it’s definitely not innovative, but it makes a solid action adventure out of the familiar gameplay and well-loved characters. While it’s not as expansive and polished as Marvel Ultimate Alliance, for anyone who wanted to team up Batman and Superman, or take flight with the Manhunter and Green Lantern, this is the only game in town.

The most distinguishing feature of Justice League Heroes is its complete lack of any. The game’s one, toted new feature, the ability to pick up rocks and sticks, is literally primitive. Justice League Heroes is justice on the order of parking tickets and income taxes, an unsurprising and tedious cog in the doleful gears of commercial repackaging.

Here’s a new idea for a super villain. Cap’n Bland. Oh, no no wait. Reverend Bland! When he catches superheroes, he, like every other super bad guy, sermonizes to them. But here’s the catch, his sermons are his superpower! He makes bad joke after bad joke, outlines his micromanaged plan for world domination, and occasionally even breaks out the dreaded power point presentation. It’s rumored that once he even made the Care Bears stop caring.
