Kid Icarus » So When Do We Get A Sequel?

User AvatarThe Game Boy sequel and Pit's appearance in the Wii version of Smash Bros. aside, Kid Icarus is one of the "forgotten" Nintendo classics that I feel deserves a sequel.

Nintendo always seems to coyly hint that something may happen someday, but they've done this for years now.

I'm ready for Nintendo to bring Pit back with a 2D DS side-scrolling update, or a Wii game that uses the Wiimote as a bow and arrow combo. I'm hoping Virtual Console sales and inclusion into the Smash Bros. roster will send the message to the Big N that there are some people out there who really want to see this game series continue.

Thoughts?

User AvatarHonestly? I really, really think that this is one of the most appalling, awful games I've ever played, and to this day I don't understand why Nintendo fans continue to lust for a sequel to it. I had the GB game and it was terrible, I played the NES version, and that was awful too.

Who honestly thought that making a platform game where you play as an angel that can't fly, and have to scroll vertically to play through the levels was a good idea? As cute as it is to have the main character get turned into a walking eggplant, the game itself blows and this game should continue to lurk in the foggy, deep realm of nostalgia only.

And those are my thoughts! =)

OK, now you made me want to play this game, Ben!
User AvatarOK, now you made me want to play this game, Ben!

Time for a new group: Games where the protagonist is turned into a walking eggplant.

ARGH!! YOU WIN THIS ROUND KID ICARUS!

Well, that was enough to turn me off of the game! Sometimes there are other reasons beyond the mist of time for so-called classic games to be forgotten...however, as I don't have a GBA, a NES, or a Wii, this is a moot point and a useless post and I will go sit in a corner now.....

HE'S NOT AN ANGEL DAMMIT!

But yeah, the game reeks horribly.
User AvatarStraight up, the difficulty on this game is brutal. I had forgotten how merciless this game was until I played it again on the Wii. And perhaps my loyalty is because I like mythology, and however loose this game's interpretation is, it's interesting.

But I think the game has good graphics, catchy music and some interesting ideas for the gameplay. The concept of a credit card was unique for its time.

I have the Game Boy one as well, and I liked that one also. Again, brutally hard to the point that you want to kill. But as I said, I like the concepts, and the characters, and think the game is perhaps not quite as good as the Marios, Zeldas and Metroids, but it still has that appeal Nintendo put into a lot of its games. I'm stoked he's in the new Smash Bros.

But yes, an angel who can barely fly almost the entire game and can't scroll downwards (the ground is still just inches below, but since it's off-screen, it's not there) can frustrate pretty quickly.... Okay, I'll admit the game can be a monster when it comes to difficulty, but I can still complete it.

If this was the worst you've played, Ben, I envy you. Obviously you never played Club Drive on the Jaguar. =p
