Climax gets a standing ovation for this playable masterpiece. This 16 meg heavyweight boggles your brain with complex dungeons, vast lands, and many towns, beautiful graphics, rugged sound effects, and attention to animation. Don't just read about it, experience the adventure for yourself.

Landstalker ist ganz klar eines der besten Spiele für das Mega Drive und man sollte es wirklich mal gespielt und in der Sammlung haben.

Zelda notwithstanding, Landstalker is probably the best 16 bit action RPG available. It was Created by Climax (headed by Kan Naito), co producers of Shining in the Darkness, Shining Force, and creators of the indirect Saturn sequel Dark Savior and the Dreamcast RPG Climax Landers. That explains why certain characters from some of the former games make cameo appearances in latter game. Some say that Landstalker put Climax Entertainment on the proverbial map. And some even say we have yet to behold a true sequel.

But Landstalker is made a classic by the involved plot that surrounds your adventuring. The story adds another dimension to exploring the vast dungeon areas, making it as much a brain game as an action adventure. The more you play, the more you realise this is by far the best adventure game on the Megadrive.

One of the greatest Action-RPGs in existence has to be LANDSTALKER! It mixes the action that made the first 2 Zelda games fun, with the ridiculously hard puzzle elements of the PC Classic Eye of the Beholder. Unfortunately, it was overlooked in favor of more popular Action-RPGs like Zelda 3 (deviants!) but it's still better than any other Action-RPG I've played thus far!

Landstalker is an action packed adventure, where you play Nigel, the Elf. You must search for the treasures of King Nole, and face many uncharted areas in your search for riches. Grab your sword and your booty bag, it's off to the island of Mercator to find the treasure.

In the end, anyone's Genesis library would be better off with Landstalker in it. It's becoming a bit hard to find complete but the effort is well worth the prize. The spotty jumps and huge dungeons may scare away some, but those willing to travel to Mercator will most definitely get their money's worth.

If you happen to be a Genesis owner looking for an interesting and quirky title over one with a compelling story, then look no further. Landstalker will provide you with a decent game and might just make you smile once or twice, but only if can enjoy it for the gameplay. I don't think I could suggest it as a must-have title, but you might just like it.

In the 16-bit era, the best action adventure games were notable for their sprawling worlds, environmental puzzles, and emphasis on exploration and discovery. Landstalker: The Treasures of King Nole, originally a Sega Genesis game, pulls off these basic action adventure tenets quite well and tops it all off with charming presentation. Unfortunately, it also draws attention away from these perks with its cumbersome controls and frustrating platforming, all of which is exacerbated by an isometric perspective. The result is a lengthy, memorable adventure that, sadly, might be memorable for the wrong reasons for those who are easily flustered.
