Not quite a point-and click adventure but more than a hidden object game, Laura Jones and the Gates of Good and Evil falls into the category of "casual adventure," alongside the likes of Azada and Dream Chronicles. In such esteemed company, this new offering from Nevosoft holds its own quite well although it's relatively brief and easy.

This game is engaging and you will want to know what is going on. The characters although suspicious are interesting if not a little odd. The plays are challenging and fun so getting to the bottom of this mystery will be enjoyable. Good luck in helping Laura solve this mystery.

I wish I could like this game more. There's some intriguing ideas being tried out in the core hidden-object game, but the execution is just not there. The mini-games are fun the first time, albeit unchallenging, but there's really no reason to play them again once you've unlocked them. There are better but more conventional games of this type out there (i.e., Hidden Relics) that you would be better served by in terms of challenge and replay value.
