Description

Inspired by Left 4 Dead, Left 4K Dead is a browser game developed for the 2009 Java4K competition where designers needed to create a game in Java with a maximum of 4 kilobyte in size (in comparison, Left 4 Dead takes up 7,500,000,000 kilobytes).

Played from a top-down view, the player controls a character surrounded by zombies in a town. Each level consists of a number of red zones where the character is save from zombies. While moving about, he is constantly haunted by large hordes of numb (but fast!) brain-dead cretins. The screen shows a health bar and the amount of ammo left. Moving is done through the keyboard keys while the mouse is used to point the direction of the flashlight and to shoot. Every now and then reloading is required. As zombies keep respawning and approach from the direction the flashlight shines, the player constantly needs to be on the move.

The game keep tracks of the amount of zombies killed. For each sessions, the levels are the same, but the position of the zombies and the location of the power-ups vary with each playthrough.
