Description

Legend of Dungeon is a role-playing game with the classic roguelike plotline: adventurer explores a dungeon in order to find treasures. In this variant, the randomly generated dungeons are shown from the side and combat is in real-time. It is relatively simple: choosing a direction and using a button to use the weapon. The second option is using found magic books, e.g. for direct damage or summoning a helper. There is no mana point system and all actions can only be performed horizontally.

Experience points are earned by killing enemies - earning enough results in a level up which automatically improves hitpoints and the attack. There is still room for customizing characters by using equipment which give stat boots or give other advantages, e.g. light in dark environments or speed. In order to avoid death - which is permanent - the player can use potions, but the effects are also randomised in every playthrough. There is no save-and-quit option, i.e. each try has to finished in one sitting, and no map.

Unusually for roguelikes, there is a co-op option for up to four players and accordingly more monsters. In this mode the permadeath feature is weakened: dead players stay in the game as ghosts and can earn their way back to life, but only with a fraction of the previous power.
