After the discovery of WW 2 the gamesindustry started to develop games from the war in Vietnam. One of the first games based on this war is Line of Sight: Vietnam. The game is developed as an budget-title by Nfusion, a studio with nothing special on their C.V. but known for its budget tactical shooters with a good price/quality ratio. If you're wondering if the game is worth it's money you'd better read this review.

For a budget title, Line delivers an impressive array of multiplayer options, including deathmatch, capture-the-flag, cooperative, and mission-based options. Playing in squads with your buddies lets you delve into character specialties like medicine or explosives, and almost redeems the strenuous solo-play. If you like budget entertainment with spit and polish, you’ll be hard-pressed to find as much value for $30 anywhere else. As we prepare for a deluge of high-profile ’Nam-set shooters, this one is a good early diversion.

Despite the fact that Vietnam's overall presentation, its price ($19.99 USD), and especially the marketing campaign (or the lack of thereof) surrounding the game may've indicated that this is just another value title by Infogrames, the quality of the gameplay, and Vietnam's intense in-game atmosphere painted a different picture. Line of Sight: Vietnam is a very solid military shooter, and I personally can't think of many reasons why fans of the genre shouldn't own it. The single-player campaign won't last too long, but then, there's always the option of playing over LAN or the Internet. The multiplayer facet doesn't bring anything drastically new to the table, but it's still fun enough to keep this game on your HDD for a while longer.

Line of Sight is something of a one-trick pony--the game doesn't offer much more than its stealth-based gameplay. However, that gameplay is challenging enough to carry the rest of the game, especially considering its modest price tag. It's just unfortunate that Line of Sight doesn't measure up to nFusion's previous games.

Line Of Sight déçoit.

Like a lawyer chasing an ambulance, Line of Sight:Vietnam comes running breathlessly after the recent explosion of 'Nam-based games, a hungry look in its eyes, drool glinting off its lips, the thought of money money money thrumming in its brain. Unlike a siren-sucking subpoena merchant, Line of Sight isn't entirely successful.
