Hipopo, the main character of Mizubaku Daibouken, appears in the Sega Saturn game Bubble Symphony as a special character, and in Bubble Memories as a giant bonus item.

Also, one of the secret rooms is built in the image of Tiki, the kiwi bird from The New Zealand Story.

Mizubaku Daibouken was planned for the Amiga by Ocean (under Liquid Kids). Unfortunately, despite the game being completed, the company felt that Liquid Kids would not make a profit, and its release was canceled. However, the Amiga version's lead programmer released the code to the Amiga community in 2003, allowing gamers to enjoy what was a very accomplished conversion for the first time.
