AmigaAmiga Mania
Every aspect of this interactive adventure is dripping with quality; graphics, sound, and dialogue are a joy to behold. The whole thing works brilliantly, looks great and isn't boring (a real problem these games can suffer from!).

AmigaAmiga Format
In any event, Temptress surpasses almost anything Sierra have offered, by being larger, funnier and a whole lot better drawn.

AmigaMegaZone
The manual is very well written, the sound and graphics are all there, disk access is very good, protection isn't a hassle, and looking at the way the whole game is put together right down to the intro it's one of the most amazing Amiga adventures written!

AmigaAmiga Action
Monkey Island fans will lovingly embrace Lure of the Temptress while others will give it a very fond and meaningful hug. Why not go and treat yourself to gorgeous graphics and superb sound to complement testing puzzles and succulent gameplay? With the money to be made from this, Maxwell could paid off his debts with ease - well, almost. Wonderful entertainment from Revolution who Virgin should be smugly proud of, and quite right too! Lure is undoubtedly going to be one of this year's greatest hits. Be lured, be tempted.

I'd say Lucasfilm still has the edge over Revolution, though. Perhaps it's the injection of humour and a great music score in the former company's fantastic pirate yarn? Nevertheless, Lure marks an outstanding debut for Revolution Software.

AmigaAmiga Power
This game may not be as big as Monkey Island 2, but it's seven quid cheaper and has a hell of lot fewer disks. It doesn't contain as much humour as Monkey Island 2, but if you prefer the slightly more serious approach to adventures (as I do) you'll love it. If you're serious about adventure games - even if you're a devoted Monkey-ite - do yourself a favour and check Temptress out. You won't be disappointed.

In a way, LOTT is a brave attempt which sometimes doesn't seem to quite work (perhaps because you only get a glimpse of how great the possibilities are for this sort of game). However, Virtual Theatre is definitely a step forward and I for one will be booking a seat in advance for the next production to run there.

Det enkla och väldigt smidiga gränssnittet är lysande. Atmosfären i spelet är väldigt bra. Ett kopieringsskydd gör dock spelet långsamt eftersom man inte kan installera det på hårddisk.

AmigaAmiga Joker

All in all, Lure of the Temptress is an interesting game that you will certainly enjoy playing. The shortcomings are that it is pretty short, it can get frustrating in some "maze" parts and there are some ridiculous parts in which you have to actually fight. A mark of 4 in total then for a very solid production with just a few minor problems!

In conclusion, Lure of the Temptress is an adventure game of some quality. It’s not classic like many of the other games of its era, but it’s worth a play and has many positive things about it. Especially the fact, that as always around here, it’s very much free. With the magic of the Dosbox, you can enjoy this blast from the past at your convenience – and for adventure fans, I suggest you do.

I enjoyed the few days I spent with Lure of the Temptress. It reminded me a lot of the old Sierra games like King's Quest and Space Quest, though with not quite as much depth. You probably won't be able to find this game on its own, but if you can get hold of the Total Revolution package, then you too can sample the delights of Revolution's adventure gaming legacies.

Essentially, Lure is a third-person adventure staged in a fantasy setting, which focuses upon the timeless struggle between good and evil. The player is cast in the role of Diermot, a young peasant unwillingly swept up in the adventure when his wayward horse follows the king to an uprising. Outside the village of Turnvale, the king’s army encounters a vicious, inhuman horde known as the Skorl, commanded by the ambitious and powerful enchantress Selena. The king and his followers are brutally killed or maimed, while Diermot is knocked unconscious and awakens a prisoner in the Skorl’s dungeon. In classic fairytale style, this young hero must now escape, vanquish his enemies and rid Turnvale of the Temptress’ menace.
