The Video Game Critic
Paperboy's graphics are bright and attractive, but the developer's choice of colors could have been better. The newspapers are almost the exact same shade of white as the sidewalk, making them hard to distinguish. Otherwise there's not much to fault with the game. The looping background music is okay but starts getting on your nerves after a while. The crisp controls allow you to adjust the speed of your bike and toss papers in a rapid-fire fashion. If you're looking for some simple arcade fun, Paperboy delivers.

Defunct Games
This port of Paperboy is a good on-the-go rendition of the arcade original, though not nearly as fast-paced as other versions. The game is not too involving, which makes it even a better portable game. It is probably a game you want in your Lynx collection, but not one to go hunting for.

The graphics aren't at all outstanding (believe it or not, they were ported from Elite's 16 bit versions of the game) and whilst they serve the job. they're let down by very jerky scrolling. The sound isn't too hot either, and after the brill sonics of Lynx Klax, I was expecting something a bit better than the tepid effects we've got here. Paperboy fans'll lap this up, but I for one was disappointed.
