Trivia
At the event "GameStar/GamePro Leserpreis 2006" (23. February 2006) Age of Empires III received the trophy "Best PC Strategy Game in 2005" after the reader's voting of German gaming magazine GameStar.
Age of Empires III on Windows uses the Havok physics engine but few modern Mac titles have ever used it because of its licensing fee. MacSoft gutted Havok from the game and substituted it with a significantly less expensive technology called PhysX, developed by Ageia for its MAC port.
