Master of Orion II is a very good strategy game. In some ways it strikes me as the child of a mating between Civilization and the original Master of Orion. The added complexity is nice, but it makes the game far too reminiscent of Civilization, and Civilization II. What separates this game from being Civilization-in-space is the ability it gives the player to design and fully control units during combat.
