Inside Mac Games (IMG)
Overall, The Movies is a great, fun, and engrossing, first-rate affair. With its wide-branching gameplay and its novel movie making abilities, the title will provide hours upon hours of fun, even if played solely in one game mode or the other. And while its movie-making abilities won’t satisfy the needs of movie professionals or anyone already experienced in that art, its fun approach to the cinematic process is a joy to tinker with regardless of age or experience, and, who knows, may even provide the groundwork for the next generation of great filmmakers.
The Movies is a fun strategy game for anyone who’s been interested in the business side of making movies. A lot of micromanagement and a few technical glitches get in the way.
While The Movies often feels like a remake each time you play, an astounding number of options will keep simulation fans satisfied.
