DescriptionMystery Case Files: Escape From Ravenhearst is another chapter of Mystery Case Files focused on the evil estate of Ravenhearst. In the original Mystery Case Files: Ravenhearst you freed a spirit that was trapped by her husband Charles Dalimar. In the second adventure Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst your investigative work freed other spirits still trapped at the evil manor. Charles Dalimar has lured you back for a third time to endure his bent, twisted and very disturbing sense of reality. Spirits which you have freed from the past adventures appear here as apparitions mainly to plead that you turn back before it is too late. These past spirits feel a sense of gratitude for your efforts that freed them in the past. In return they will attempt to assist you in your adventure but are limited in what help can be provided in the physical world. The player in the role of detective must press on ignoring these requests not to proceed and to once again deal with Charles and his twisted brand of evil. Charles has built an entire personal history of his asylum spent past which the player must navigate its many perils and psychotic scenarios.
The player interface and game mechanics provide a hybrid approach of graphical adventure with on screen movement touch points, puzzles and hidden-object (morphing) search style game play. Hidden objects are somewhat non-traditional with the common word search replaced by finding objects that morph in each scene with a number count of how many to find. Objects collected in inventory at the bottom of the screen require the player to drop or drag them onto other items in the scenes to activate or complete needed tasks for progression.
