Mac Observer (Jul 27, 2008)
Even with these caveats and a lack of a tool kit/level editor, Neverwinter Nights 2 is everything a role-playing game fan could ask for. The story is there, the game is fun and Aspyris updates have created a product that runs cleanly and plays nice with Mac OS X, even if the hardware requirements may run a bit steep. One of the best RPG titles is here on the Mac in fine form, despite needing a few kinks worked out and for anyone whois craving a good adventure, the D&D goodness is back.

If you are a seasoned D&D game player, you will notice that Neverwinter Nights 2 remains faithful to the core of actual pen-and-paper Third Edition D&D gameplay. The result is a game that focuses more on a system of ownership and empowerment, which works very well in our book. This is much less of a group game than other titles out there, so be prepared for a smaller band of travellers and greater character development as a result.

Ultimately, fans of the Neverwinter Nights series and RPGs in general probably won't be disappointed with Neverwinter Nights 2, but may find they'd have a better gaming experience by simply playing through the original Neverwinter Nights or either of its expansion packs a second or even third time.
Digital Chumps (Jul 27, 2008)
Though this game certainly has its flaws (what game doesn’t?), it manages to more than make up for them in story and gameplay. The sheer size of the game will keep you entertained for hours on end. When you do manage finish the single player mode of the game, you can always go back and play with others online, for virtually limitless replayability. If you are a Mac user who is looking for an enthralling, immersive gaming experience, look no further than Neverwinter Nights 2.

Even the weak graphics and glitches can’t spoil the epic story. Role-playing and adventure fans will be busy for months.

As it stands today, Neverwinter Nights 2 is fun, but ultimately not worth the buggy and incomplete baggage it contains. The story is fun, the gameplay is decent, the bugs are horrible, and the omissions are rotten to the core.
