The best things about Outpost are its realism and attention to detail. Depending on your resources and the direction of your research teams, you can grow your colony in many different paths and to different ends. No two games can be exactly the same. If you enjoy a strategy game with lots of skull-sweat and engrossing management problems, you'll love Outpost. If you're looking for an interstellar shoot-em-up, you should look elsewhere. Although the game is constantly changing and the complexities grow in proportion to your number of "turns" completed, there really isn't a lot of what most would call action.
