Pirates of The Caribbean Online is an MMORPG adaptation of the popular movie and game series of the same name. This game goes where no other has gone before and allows you to create and customize your very own pirate who can adventure and start their own crews from all the other online players in order to conquer the seas.

After being released from prison at the start by the infamous main protagonist "Captain" Jack Sparrow, he explains to the player that his beloved 18th century Caribbean world is under threat by a dangerous legion of undead pirates led by a new villain simply known as Jolly Roger. The player encounters Roger for the first time after they have been given their own sea chest, which contains all the useful items needed for the journey. Roger lets the player live and serve as a warning to Sparrow, who instead makes them walk the plank. Who knows what tricks this new and sinister villain is up to?

After the player swims to Port Royal (you don't control this part), this is where the game officially starts off. This new area gives the player their first contact with other players and NPC's, friend or foe. This is also where you get your own ship to which will be very important for exploring the many places from the movies that you were never able to see before. Aside from Jack Sparrow and Will, there are also many other recognizable characters from the series, such as the noble Elizabeth Swann and Jack's previous nemesis: Barbossa. They will help you greatly in your main quest to stop Jolly Roger and his minions once and for all!

Players who have the free "Basic Access" only have a limited number of weapons and skills to use. However, by using a monthly-paid subscription, players gain "Unlimited Access", which allows for the full usage of features and character advancement beyond the limits of "Basic Access". Players with Unlimited Access can explore the entire world and reach a current maximum level of 50.

The game plays like a lot of other MMORPGs such as World of Warcraft, where the main point of the game is to finish different quests, socialize with all the different people in or out of your guild (or in this case your crew) to raid and plunder the huge range of dangerous dungeons and towns. As a pirate, the choice is all yours in this game.
