DescriptionRadiant is a futuristic top-down arcade shooter. The player controls a space ship at the bottom of the screen that can be moved left and right and fires automatically. Various enemy formations appear near the top of the screen and need to be taken out to progress. They move according to patterns and some regularly swoop down following an irregular path. There are also larger enemies that require more hits and there are ten boss fights. In another section the ship travels through an asteroid field and needs to dodge or destroy asteroids to survive.
The ship has a small amount of lives, but sometimes a single hit can be taken from a bullet of a smaller enemy without losing a life. Destroyed enemies are rewarded with points. They also add to a score multiplier that keeps going as long as no life is lost. More points are rewarded for destroying enemies that swoop down. They also leave behind credits that can be regularly spent at a store to buy six weapons: vulcan cannon, bio blaster, plasma gun, disruptor laser, seeking missiles and smart gun. Each weapon can be upgraded up to ten times. An extra life can also be bought at the shop. While playing it is possible to switch between the available weapons at any moment. Some weapons also appear as bonuses by destroying enemies. There are twelve power-ups in the game, for instance introducing freeze time where all enemy movement is halted.
The game contains three game modes: casual, survival and hardcore, and there are global leaderboards. The game is divided over three missions with over 100 levels in total.
