DescriptionIn 16th century England, Elena Sedgrave is recruited personally by Henry VIII as a spy, after saving the life of one of the king's men. She is sent with her father to other European nations to gather useful information for the monarch, entering a world of political intrigue where she has to move carefully to avoid getting caught while doing her investigations.
The Tudors is a hidden object game with elements of the adventure genre, based on a TV series of the same name. Photographs of the main cast are used as portraits for the characters. The player assumes the role of Henry's spy, searching the many rooms of foreign courts for new information. Most of the time, the objective is to find and click on all the items from an open scroll at the left side of the screen. The hint button is the Tudor's rose sitting above the list, that shows the position of one of the required objects when used, but takes some time to be slowly repainted and become available again. A sun dial displays the optional time limit, that can be turned on or off at the start of the game.
In some instances, the goal is to move between rooms and collect inventory objects, that can be used on portions of the scenery to solve puzzles or perform actions. Some mini-games appear on a separate screen, where the player has to mix potions, pick locks, reassemble torn garments, find the differences between two similar images and complete other similar challenges.
