Vertiginous Golf
Description
Vertiginous Golf is a Steampunk Victorian-styled mini-golf game. Your character lives in a dark rainy city, but using a strange device he/she can virtually travel to an idyllic mini-golf course way above the clouds. There, you can play mini-golf in wacky floating courses, full of obstacles, conveyor belts, moving platforms, fans, and other hazards. You can use an artificial humming bird to look around the course in first-person view to plan your shots. The game features a rewind option for your shots, and a mechanical beetle attached to the ball allows you some influence on its trajectory -- both features cost energy which is replenished at the end of each hole.
The game has also a story mode: hit the correct spots with your ball and characters tell you a tale about a city split in two halves, namely, New Lun-Donne (the floating city) and Scudburough (which is the half eternally shrouded in darkness and rain).
There is also a racing mode, local and online multiplayer modes (which includes weapons that can be used to whack your fellow adversaries) and online leaderboards. Finally, the game includes an editor, where you can create your own courses and share them with the community.
