In this installment (#40) of the Blender competition, participants were urged to submit works engaging the themes of "Superhero", "robbery" and "England". While Captain Britain is nice for traditionalists, the authors here have selected Mad Cow Man as the zany protector of the British Isles in the madcap late '90s. You search text-rich portions of London for his sidekick, Deep Fried Beef Fat Boy, last seen absentmindedly wandering the city in a hangover-induced amnesiac stupor. Collect clues and essential superhero supplies from Watford Station to Picadilly Circus and all points (well, several points) between, taking one of the least efficient routes possible between the grottiest bathroom in old London Towne and the convoluted subterranean labyrinths hidden in its sewers.

Character inspiration

"Deep Fried Beef Fat Boy" is of course a thinly-veiled (or perhaps only-vaguely-remembered) nod to the "Billy the Beef Tallow Boy" character from the "You Are What You Eat" fake-ad bumper to "Ren's Retirement", the season 3 episode of the Ren & Stimpy Show, originally aired November 7, 1993.

This entry did not win the competition in which it was entered, a distinction going to a visual collaboration between god among lice and panacea of Fire. When pressed, the adjudicators confessed that, having run only one of the two executables (not the one entitled RUNME.BAT) in the package to no observable effect, they moved along to the next entry without having read even the opening lines of the game.

Despite this setback, shoddy AGT scripting skills gleaned from cobbling this entry together ended up informing the form and structure of the Kithe #14 e-mag released a mere two and a half months later.
