Madden NFL 99

Overall I think if your a NFL fan and your looking for a game that will entertain you and give you that realism that you need then Madden is definitely the game for you. So far it is my choice as the best NFL game of the year on every platform.

This, folks, is a fantastic game, and the best pigskin available for the N64, bar none. Just keep that mute button handy.

In my opinion, this is the best playing football game to date. It may not be as pretty to look at but it really gets the job done. Everything is realistic and feels like a football simulation. If you are looking for a more arcade type game, you can change a few options and play a faster, less complicated version of the game but face it, die hard Madden fans want the real deal. It is nice to see that Madden is back on top.

This game attempts to get everything in the game but I didn't find it that enjoyable. From the fact that I seemed to win only one in five of the coin flips to the lack of superstar players entering in during the seasonal drafts. The franchise and season modes would be more interesting if you could make multiplayer deals or throw in cash to finish a deal. Negotiating contracts would be more realistic if you weren't just tossing contract offerings against a wall until one sticks - there just isn't enough interaction there. This game is probably the best simulation out there so I hope it's time to raise the bar and do some things that will knock peoples' socks off again. But it is probably the best NFL simulation there is so it's got some things going for it. I would definitely recommend renting before buying!

In the end, when it comes down to it, Madden 99 is simply the best Madden game to date. While this is the first NFL football game to come out this season, it's safe to say that Madden 99 will be one of the best football games to ship this year.

De 99-versie ziet er opnieuw puik uit. De graphics zijn nog beter dan voorheen, de gameplay verloopt soepel, de aktie is realistisch, het spel kent weer shitloads aan statistieken en de Multiplayer mode is zeer uitgebreid. Ik kan weinig punten van kritiek vinden. Madden 99 laat gewoon American Football zien zoals het spelletje in werkelijkheid ook gespeeld wordt, zonder enige opsmuk of vreemde power-moves.

A decent game, but not quite there. The graphics are improved, but system resources are severely taxed by the sheer number of polygons required to render each frame. Gameplay has improved, as has the AI, but again the game seems a bit behind the competition when you consider the controller configuration and audio distortion/dropouts. For the most part, this is a very playable game, but take serious note of the hardware recommendations above. To really get the most out of this game, you need a serious machine with a Voodoo2 accelerator. I just wish I could have one to see what the game could really look like…

As you should expect from EA titles, the graphics are set to new level. Somehow some way the EA team comes up with more things to do and show. Too bad the sounds took a break. Very inconstant sounds some times becoming frustrating. Despite this very insignificant flaw, the gameplay is fun and the controls are not hard to learn. You'll be happy to know it is not impossible to complete a pass now, which in previous versions was a freak of nature. This is by far one the best football sim's I've seen to date.

Naast de A.I. en de gameplay, die nog verder verbeterd zijn en voor een bijna perfecte football-simulatie zorgen, maken vooral de kleine details in de animaties dat Madden 99 ver boven de andere football games uitsteekt. Voor beginnelingen is Madden 99 geen gemakkelijke kost, maar de gevorderd footballer kan zijn ei kwijt met de bijna onuitputtelijke hoeveelheid teams, spelers en wedstrijden! Dit is een spel, dat ik vaker ga spelen.

Mein erster Eindruck: Was eine Optionsfülle! Der zweite: Was eine Optionsfülle! Auch wenn Präsentation und spielerische Tiefe erste Sahne sind, erleichtern karge Menüs und das flaue Handbuch nicht gerade den Einstieg. Nach ein, zwei Stunden hat man das Geschehen allerdings durchschaut, und Über-Coach John Madden ist ja auch noch da.

Men på den anden side, hvis ikke man interesserer sig for sporten, hvorfor skulle man så købe en spil som dette? For alle, der er bidt af NFL, fås det ikke bedre end Madden NFL '99.

Alt for mange situationers udfald afhænger af held, og hvem gider vinde en fodboldkamp ved lodtrækning? Disse problemer mener jeg er grundlæggende for alle amerikanske fodboldspil, men problemerne til trods er Madden 99 et af de bedre af slagsen.

Most of the aspects that make a typical EA sports game are there and, for the most part, are brilliant - the depth, the witty comments, and the top-notch graphics. More time spent perfecting the gameplay would have producd a clear winner here. If you are willing to give up depth, Blitz's PC conversion offers non-stop no rules football. On the other hand, those who are more interested in the whole management perspective, maintaining a team, and playing a team throughout a season should give Madden '99 more than a passing glance.

American Football mit allem, was drinsteckt. Dazu gehören leider auch Geknäuel und taktische Optionen, bei denen jedem Europäer die Birne raucht. Trotz der Einsteiger- Modi wendet sich Madden NFL 99 an Fachkundige, die zudem einen muskulösen Rechner auf der Bank haben sollten. Die Liste an Statistiken und Optionen ist ewig lang, der Spielwitz aber etwas flach. Zudem erreicht die Präsentation nicht das übliche Hochglanz-Niveau von EA Sports.
