All Games Rap Sheet

View Mode: threaded | watch thread This game was shown in Microsft's recent E3 XBLA montage, under the title Marathon: Durandal. The only disappointing part is they want $10 for a game that's been free for years on PC and that the original appears not to be coming.
And from what I've seen its got "updated" graphics in the form of pre-rendered sprites.... (shudder). And yeah, 10 bucks for a free game... gotta love those x-boxers.Ps: the game is really good, probably worth the asking price. It appears the graphically-enhanced version is still using five-way sprites, they're just drawn at a higher resolution. I would at least liked to see them switch to eight-way. The engine can do it.
I'm a big fan of Marathon, so I'll probably end up buying this anyway :)
http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&cid=12664They've gone to a true 3D engine. It's unclear from the article if an level geometry has been updated to fix this or what it means in practical terms other than proper perspective when looking up or down. It also doesn't specify whether this is the Windows version or the Mac version, which had a bunch of minor differences. It could be a third version, which would be pretty cool. http://marathon.bungie.org/story/win95m2/win95m2page1.html | ||||||||||||||||||||||
