March of War: Face Off
Description
March of War: Face Off is the spin off from the March of War game. It is a collectible card game that has 3 out of 6 factions of March of War. Developers are planning to include the other factions eventually.
Currently available factions are:
-
United Republic, shortened to Republic - representing USA and Canada
-
European Alliance, shortened to Alliance - representing Europe, but not former Soviet Union's republics, and Australia and New Zealand
-
Shogun Empire, shortened to Empire - representing Japan, Korea, China, and South East Asian countries
There are also cards available to all factions.
The game allows playing against AI at 3 difficulty levels and against other players. There are daily quests offered, completion of which is possible by playing against other players or AI. The reward is gold that can be used to buy new cards. Premium currency is required if the player wants to buy cards of the certain faction only.
Matches occur on a 3 by 7 grid. At each end of the grid there is a command center, players attempt to destroy the opponent's command center. Each player starts out with 5 cards in hand, with an extra manpower card given to the player going second, thus bringing his total amount of cards to 6. Each card allows placing of the units on the grid, usually in the first column next to their command center, there are units that can be placed in further columns. Depending on the unit it can move, attack neighboring units, heal friendly units. As the units move across the grid they deal damage to command centers the closer they come to them. In addition to cards that give units, there are cards that provide abilities to call in airstrikes, artillery barrages, and buffs and debuffs for units. To play cards manpower is required, each player starts out with 1 manpower in the beginning of the match, and each turn resets available manpower and adds 1 manpower on top. Maximum manpower available is 12.
There are currently 4 types of cards: Normal, Bronze, Silver and Gold. The more valuable cards are rarer and their units or abilities they grant are more powerful.
