Another arcade-perfect 4MB translation from Capcom...too bad it's probably going to be the last. If you're looking for a great Saturn fighter, give Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter a shot!

Ho well, apart from that small problem I have, take everything I said in my XSF Saturn review, add a smidge from my MSF Arcade review, and you’ve got my MSF review. Recommended for the vs. games fans out there.

If you are a fan of the arcade smash then you probably already own this title. Newcomers will find this game irresistible as it's so easy to pick up and play while proving impossible to put down. It has ample characters to select from, bright colorful graphics and a multiple of hidden moves.

Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter may not have been the upgrade everyone was expecting, but what it brought to the table added some great new aspects to the tag team fighter. Not only was the added gameplay great but it was a stepping stone for what was to follow. The new characters make for a welcome change and since MSH vs SF hit the home console only six months after X-Men vs SF, the switching from one to the other kept them both fresh. Again though since this title utilizes the 4 Meg RAM cart it never hit western shores officially. But remember all, the GREATEST game announcer ever!

MSH vs. SF is a solid game, but it isn't the best polished of the Street Fighter series, or of any of the Capcom crossover games. I say save your pennies for Street Fighter Alpha 3 or the Capcom vs. SNK series. Let this title be the one that gathers dust in your collection.

End the end, I must admit that I had a lot of fun with MSH vs. SF ¿ but I certainly wouldn't recommend it to those who didn't enjoy XM vs. SF, or are looking for something truly innovative from their next fighting game.
SEGA SaturnGameSpot (Nov 30, 1998)
When it comes to 2D, the Saturn gets the last laugh. As the fourth Capcom game to support the 4MB RAM cartridge, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter joins a collection of arcade-perfect conversions of fighting games.

And those of you who have no idea what I was saying in the last three paragraphs should consider this: MSH vs. SF is just like X-Men vs. SF, and Marvel Super Heroes, so if you own any of these already, you can probably live without this latest rehash. This game should be entertaining for those of you who haven't touched any of those aforementioned fighters. MSH vs. SF, on it's own, is a well made and entertaining - especially with two players. On the other hand, in the context of all the other Capcom fighters, MSH vs. SF is nothing more than a corporation trying to suck your soul dry.
PlayStationAll Game Guide (1999)
But let's be realistic for a second. Anyone that loves the Street Fighter series is going to love this game unless the omission of an actual tag-team feature totally destroys your ability to enjoy it. I'll admit that this does take away from the overall score, but is not enough to truly ruin the game. Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter is a decent 2D fighting game at heart but lacks any real innovation or technical leaps forward in an already crowded genre. One day Capcom will be able to incorporate the beloved tag-team gameplay that we all know and love from the Arcade just won't be on the PlayStation.

PlayStationGameSpot (Feb 16, 1999)
I've been a big fan of the Street Fighter series since its outset. And to be quite honest, playing Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter only reminds me of how great the series used to be. Sure, the game is mildly entertaining, but without the true tag team gameplay that the arcade version of the game had, it comes off as just another Street Fighter game with Marvel characters.
