Like I said in the beginning, I wasn’t expecting much out of Medal of Honor, but I was more than satisfied. While the multiplayer has its cons, it definitely has potential to be built into something more and I wouldn’t be surprised if downloadable content releases soon. The single-player campaign is enough to hold anyone through a gripping story with non-stop and fast-paced action and a trio of compelling characters. I should also mention that MoH is dedicated to America’s servicemen and I think it’s a job well done, no matter what the military bases say. Medal of Honor is one game you should be playing and one game that is now in competition with the rest.

Medal of Honor biedt niettemin prima shooter-vertier.

Overall, Medal of Honor offers a good, solid shooting experience. However, the game just doesn’t offer anything unique or outstanding that warrants a definite pick up. Still, shooter fans wanting something new to play with friends, or fans that want a decent story in a modern shooter may want to give this game a look.

Summarized we can say that Medal of Honor plays nice, but to reach the top the makers will have to get up earlier as there's no innovation or originality to be found. On the other hand there's plenty of variation present to keep you busy for a while and also the multiplayer doesn't disappoint. Once the Afghan dust settles, however, little is left. Medal of Honor is fun as a snack but certainly not a keeper. Better luck next time?

I can understand why DICE didn’t want to build a multiplayer too similar to that of Bad Company 2, but the current approach has turned the new Medal of Honor into a hybrid that won’t be able to attract the fans of either Modern Warfare or BC2 in the long run, because it doesn’t have any good incentives. And it’s not far-fetched to think that the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops next month will empty even more servers. Problem is, the single-player doesn’t manage to lift it too much either, and Electronic Arts’ indecision on whether to compete in multiplayer against their own game (Bad Company 2), or go gunning for the elephant in the room (Modern Warfare) will cost them dearly in the long run.

Though it may be tempting to look at its flaws and dismiss Medal of Honor as inferior to its competitors, there is a lot to enjoy here. The campaign has its shortcomings, but its unique sense of scope and well-orchestrated pacing make it an enjoyably cohesive adventure. Tier One mode offers an accessible yet formidable challenge, and the competitive multiplayer captures the brutal intensity of a battlefield where one errant move can result in your abrupt death. Medal of Honor doesn't set any new standards for the genre, but it delivers a lot of entertainment and excitement if you're looking to add a splash of realism to your first-person shooting.

The new Medal of Honor doesn’t quite provide an epic tale to be told throughout the ages, and depending on how you play MOH’s campaign, the completion time is around 5-6 hours. It can get emotional towards the end, especially after you have developed a sense of brotherhood with your team. If you really are pressed for time, you can pretty much speed run the entire game on hard mode with relative ease, but why would you want to do that when there is so much atmosphere to admire and absorb? It is obvious that MOH’s multiplayer has not broken new ground, nor does it boast anything you couldn’t find in any previous FPS titles either. Having said that what the multiplayer lacks in variety it makes up for in gameplay and it appeals to a completely different demographic of shooter fans.

There's a lot to like about EA's Medal of Honor reboot if you're able to look past some of the more disappointing aspects of the game. Though the game never truly reaches the potential its source material allows for, you're going to want to experience the superb pacing and visuals - not to mention the distinctly addicting multiplayer suite. Sure, it's not everything it could have been, but given the expectations, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Overall, Medal of Honor Online is a fairly decent experience, the multi player still has a long way to go before it hits Call of Duty standards, but it does have some nice touches and certainly looks the part. Where Medal of Honor really fails to shine is in its glitched-out single player campaign; characters standing still for no reason or getting stuck in the scenery is quite unacceptable, especially when this is a regular occurrence. Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy the campaign and think there is some pretty good, innovative ideas with it, but it could and should have been a lot better.

Medal of Honor may not be perfect but it’s a hefty offering with extremely high production values and plenty of content to keep shooter fans happy. It probably won’t knock Call of Duty out of the king spot of modern shooters, but as an alternative, it’ll provide a semi-new perspective on modern warfare. As a fresh iteration to an old highly-acclaimed series, Medal of Honor has definitely done enough to put the franchise back on the map. With a bit more polish in the single player campaign and a push towards a more unique, personalized multiplayer experience, the predictable Medal of Honor 2 could very well be the next go-to shooter for this modern warfare FPS genre.

All in all there's little bad to be said about Medal of Honor. We can't really complain about the gameplay and realism but if we look closer the latter does disappoint a bit. A shooter is bought because you want to be a soldier, not an actor. The excellent presentation does manage to immerse you in a tense atmosphere and the the battlefield set in Afghanistan isn't only refreshing but also worked out in detail. A great game, but only if you don't get bothered too much by the beauty errors and underlying problems

Medal of Honor certainly has some great elements and ideas but they aren't brought together in the most convincing way. The campaign lacks widespread appeal due to aspects of its realistic setup and narrative, and the multiplayer is too focused to draw a substantial crowd from the established shooters already out there. However, as far as reboots go it's a good first outing that could well pave the way for the series' follow-ups. It's not the triumphant return many expected but there is definitely another horse in the race.

Kurzum: Medal of Honor braucht kein Mensch.

By attempting to topple the genre’s leaders and offering nothing new or exciting, Medal of Honor unfortunately pales in comparison to the competition. The single-player is short, but rather than being short and sweet, it’s a little soulless, while the multiplayer, which is plagued by some bizarre design choices, falls somewhere between Bad Company 2 and Modern Warfare 2, and in comparison to those two big hitters, it’s clear it doesn’t offer the same engaging and worthwhile experiences. We expected more, and for the next outing, Danger Close and co. are going to have to up their game significantly.

Medal of Honor is an FPS which tried to set itself apart from the crowd and instead fell right in line with what a run of the mill FPS is. Nothing about it stands out as particularly bad, but nothing stands out as particularly memorable either. Medal of Honor is a perfectly average, solid C. And when most of your competition is exceedingly popular and regarded as good to great, average just doesn’t cut it.

Medal of Honor's real problem may be Danger Close's inability to commit to a particular direction for the game. Swinging wildly between the horrors and danger of war and unrealistic action movie moments and hampered by a surplus of boring scripted sequences, not even DICE's talented multiplayer designers are able to elevate Medal of Honor to something memorable. Combined with Danger Close's fixation on delivering an experience about a war that Americans are deeply ambivalent about, and multiplayer that remains likely to incite controversy about its content after players have moved on to deeper, more engaging multiplayer options, Medal of Honor is one of the bigger disappointments of 2010. That being said, for gamers with the option, Medal of Honor for PC is the version to get, with none of the apparent stability problems of its console counterparts.

In the end, MoH is really two different games. The campaign stands up against (and in many ways surpasses) the super-soldier competition. I only wish I'd gotten a few more missions to go on with Dusty. The multiplayer, on the other hand, eschews the elements that define the campaign. EA and DICE would have been wise to retain the realism, giving the multiplayer a defining characteristic. Instead, what we get is an amalgam that is best labeled "Battlefield Warfare" -- an admittedly entertaining concoction, but one that tastes awfully familiar.

In conclusion, it is a little disappointing that the multiplayer in this game turned out the way it did. However I do think the Medal of Honor franchise lived up to its story telling reputation that it earned so well with previous entries in the franchise. I would not suggest buying this game without trying the demo, or at least renting it first. However, it will provide you with a few solid few days of gameplay before diminishing in value.

Medal Of Honor evokes none of the feel of the previous games. Sure the shift to modern-day warfare is one that will appeal to many more gamers, but it’s not the same franchise in any sense. It feels weak, a shambling, pimply teen with no enthusiasm for anything. Bar the snippets of truly enjoyable gun play, there’s nothing here to enthuse over. Still, as a stand alone title, it’s worth playing. Don’t expect anyone else to be talking about it over the water cooler in a couple of weeks when Black Ops hits though.

All things considered, I was desperately underwhelmed by Medal of Honor. I genuinely believed it would be a more interesting and serious take on the now popularised modern warfare FPS. As it stands, the campaign was a short and mostly forgettable affair, while the slower pacing of the multiplayer only becomes rewarding after some initial persistence. Here’s to hoping that the inevitable next iteration of the already well-selling reboot applies a lot more spit and polish, and steps clear away from the corridor-shooter approach.
