Somewhat Sequel

The Good
There are a number of improvements from the first game. For one the side quests can now be accessed from a central spot instead of wandering around to find them. The feature that really gives Mega Man that Classic Robot feel is the Style change giving you a much needed advantage to beat the stronger enemies. Lastly there is some challenge in the later parts of the game, particularly the secret WWW areas.

The Bad
Many of the flaws from the first game remain, including the isometric perspective. Some of the puzzles stay the same with every replay, that randomisation would have made it much more interesting. And the music tunes sound worse in quality than before, it spoils the fun in playing the game.

The game is heavily diminished by the Saturday cartoon style storyline. It doesn't feel powerful at all and every single bad guy has a pathetic sob story to commit revenge against society, that it's stale before you even you got to that part. Exactly what is the message behind the game ending? That's it's okay to endanger thousands of lives and get off with just a slap on the wrist. Feels like a slap in the face.

The Bottom Line
Despite continuing where the first game left off, this feels more like an add on than a sequel, due to the mechanics being mainly the same and much of the artwork and sprites being carbon copies. If you can withstand some of the repetitions this game throws at you, then maybe you'll be able to enjoy it, try to beat it and unlock the secrets at the end. Still has that Pokemon anime ripoff feel lingering around.
