The third of the SNES triumvirate. Smash-hit or a bust? It is actually both. It is a wonderful game and the best since Mega Man 3, but the flip side to that coin was the sales floundered. But, sales problems aside, this game flies high in gameplay and is filled with originality and complexity, making this a wonderful game to play.

Do you really need me to talk about the play control? It's the same as in MMX2, which is to say, pretty much perfect? Good. On the whole, this is a rather fun game, complete with typical Mega Man fare, and the gameplay that made Mega Man GREAT!!!. Any Mega Man Fan (or any Action Gamer or any gamer at all) GET THIS GAME!!! Well, OK, so I'm exagerrating a bit.....Still, get this one. It's kinda rare though.

Although I still prefer the old NES Mega Man games and the more traditional look of the SNES MM7 as well, but even so, X3 is not a game to take lightly. This game is all about timed jumps, moving platforms, earning power-ups and all the things that made the classic MM's so great. The control couldn't be more perfect, the graphics and music are great, plus all the different powers Mega Man accumulates do spice things up a bit. MM X3 is the game MM X should have been from the start.

Mega Man X3 is a great little game that requires all kind of manual dexterity, thinking and a great deal of patience. On its own, it's a real winner. Unfortunately it's different enough for the first baker's dozen of Mega Man games to set it apart. Still, its a good game and if you've already played the rest, you owe it to yourself to play this one as well.

Mega Man X3 covers extremely familiar territory, but the game still manages to provide surprises and some clever elements in the gameplay and graphics. It may be routine for experienced players, but anyone who hasn't played a 16-bit game in this series will discover Mega magic.

I've always been a big fan of the Megaman X series, but I'm very indecisive about this third game. Everything that made the first two games great has been kept in 3; however, I would like to see some change. Even though I like the game the way it is, how about trying something new that would separate it from the prequels? I guess, if it's not broken, why fix it? With the exception of a few minor changes, MMX3 is a close duplicate to MMX2.

It's funny how a last-minute and brutal twist to the difficulty can ruin so many things. Play this one for the first 12 levels only. Unless you hate yourself.

Megaman X is a middling game that hit the scene a few years too late. We don't condemn it because it's a platform shooter. No, we condemn it because it's not a very good one.
