I'm glad they tried to expand the vast and very interesting MIB universe with new characters and a brand new story, but the fact that it's a licensed game and the strict limitations that come with that definitely hold Alien Crisis back. There's an audience for a good MIB game, because the world is vibrant and quirky, and there really isn't anything else like it. It's all so deliciously cheesy, but that works for this franchise, and I'd like to see what could be done when a developer is finally given enough time to experiment a little rather than quickly churn out a game to coincide with a film. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened yet, and this is a painfully bland game with little inspiration and even less going for it. You can do better than spend your money on MIB: Alien Crisis.

Men in Black: Alien Crisis non ha deluso in alcun modo le nostre aspettative, nel senso che ci aspettavamo un prodotto mediocre, realizzato unicamente per sfruttare l'onda della rinnovata popolarità del franchise in vista dell'uscita del terzo film. Peraltro la storia raccontata da Fun Labs non ha nulla a che fare con quella vista al cinema, ruotando attorno a personaggi completamente differenti e inventati per l'occasione, che scimmiottano alcune delle tematiche affrontate nell'originale MIB, con l'agente inesperto che si trova a confrontarsi con situazioni assurde. Le parti giocate, in stile sparatutto su binari, risultano ripetitive, anonime e facilotte, mentre è la noia a caratterizzare i momenti più lenti del prodotto Activision, quando bisogna trovare indizi che ci conducano alla fase successiva. Insomma, dell'avventura di Peter Delacoeur si salva davvero poco.

All of this boredom and blandness is exacerbated by the fact that MIB: Alien Crisis frequently subjects you to loading times in excess of 30 seconds, leaving you to wonder what exactly it's working so hard on. But perhaps the most egregious offense is that the game is currently retailing for full price. Even with the included voucher for money toward a movie ticket that may or may not be redeemable in your area, this is a shockingly high price. Fortunately, it makes your decision easy: Don't buy this game.

Men in Black: Alien Crisis is spectacularly miserable licensed fare - a tie-in game that recalls the bad old days when a movie title was leased out to some mom-and-pop developer in the middle of Siberia and put together with the help of a broken woollen loom and old chopsticks. The thing about most bad games is that they're easy to love because, deep down, they really want to be good games. This project has no such ambitions. It has no ambitions at all, really, except milestone payments and hitting rent on the studio building (both of which are relatively laudable aims these days, I guess). In conclusion, avoid this game as if it was made out of plutonium.
