In my mind, this is really the complete racing package. There wasn't one moment during my time with this game that I wasn't engaged and having fun. Ultimately, that's the mark of a great title in any genre.

Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition is one of those arcade racers which seems to come along only once in a very long time that is packed so full of content that you won't want to stop playing. The sheer amount of cars, races, and customization options are unmatched, and to be blunt, Midnight Club 3 is the best racer of this generation.

Midnight Club 3 DUB edition is a real winner, it's a blast from the start to the end and its mix of game types will keep you coming back for more, along with the deep customisation options in your garage.

Outshining many of the street racing games already out there, Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition is pure racing joy for those who like their import tuning and midnight street racing done to perfection. As a fan of the second game, it was hard to imagine the series getting much better than this but with so much added to the game’s addictive racing will surely make some new fans with this one. Go out and buy this one, you won’t regret it.

Now that the bulk of import-tuners have come and more or less gone, Rockstar, with its third iteration in the Midnight Club series, has tackled what is arguably the most stylistic and well-rounded arcade racer of the bunch. Developed in San Diego where the tuner scene is highly visible even to the ignorant, Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition is rooted deep in the mod subculture and never gives up faith or sells out to commercialism. The intertwined message of stellar gameplay and entrenched culture gives the game a feeling of authenticity sorely lacking in similar racers.

The complete package is rounded off nicely with a soundtrack comprised of over 100 songs from a very wide range of genres. And, of course, Xbox gamers can enjoy creating their own custom soundtracks. Aside from minor framerate niggles, DUB is one of the finest racers to hit the market in recent memory, and it's certainly the king of the tuner racer scene, without a doubt. Depending on personal taste, I recommend those of you looking for a solid, fast, and impressive arcade racing challenge with more tricked-out options than most to check out Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition. It's a blast that'll keep you coming back both online and individually, taking up a good chunk of your precious game-playing time.

Waarvoor mijn oprechte dank! Blinger dan dit kan het gewoon niet!

My only complaints are that some of the tournaments are boring, and I wish more of the multiplayer race types were induced in single player. Loading can be an issue, but it didn't detract from my enjoyment or keep me from playing the game. DUB Edition is the best racing title on the PSP, and should remain so for some time.

Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition from Rockstar is the best street tunin' car racing game for X-Box. It's so much fun cruisin' around the whole city without any pressure of takin' on a race. Absolutely freedom is one of the keys to success for the MC series. Speed while racing is amazing and the blurry effects while going into nitro is lovely done. Thanks to the involvement of the most trendy tune magazine, Dub Magazine, Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition takes tunin' higher and deeper. The game features a long career mode with full of extras, arcade mode with plenty of other races and a fine online feature. Graphics are sweet so is the music and effects. Bottom line is that if you want the latest and the most in-depth tune street racer game, "Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition" should be yours!

Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition is an impressively ambitious product. It does an admirable job of re-creating a complex console game on the PSP ... admirable but for the ridiculous load times. They truly put a damper on the rest of the game, turning what would have been a fantastic, console-like experience into a decent, console-like experience that will give you a newfound appreciation for cartridge-based media. Rockstar is clearly onto something good here. It just needs to take those last few steps towards technical refinement to have something great.

Before, the racing streets of the night life belonged to Rockstar. They could dance on it, pee on it, and even make love in its dank and dirty potholes. If burning rubber with a super fast charged, slick, styling new vehicle was ever done in a video game, it was done because Rockstar made it possible. Then competition came along. The video game industry's biggest bully, Electronic Arts, rolled in and called out to the innovators of Rockstar, "Yo bro! We be like, making dis sim-like underground street racer. It gonna be tight, just like yo moms!" With a bullet wound to their head and a quick foot on the gas pedal, Rockstar zoomed off to lay out their own plan of action to realign the force of "true" underground racing back onto their side.

Rockstar San Diego knows how to make a great racer. Its Midnight Club series has always been an edgy, fast line of racer in the overcrowded arcade racing genre, and Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition is the best yet. The import tuner-style of racing is the theme here, and it's safe to say that DUB nails this better than the likes of NFSU and those other would-be tuner games.

Though the competition is plentiful in the street racing genre these days, Midnight Club has come back strong. It has all the options you'd expect in this kind of game, but crucially, they're mostly all implemented well. It's the first game where I've actually felt a sense of attachment to my customized car, and it's one of the most entertaining racing games around.

Overall, this game is just easily rated as awesome. It has the style, and the gameplay of a true great racing game. If you stand Need for Speed: Underground 2 up to this game, I would say this game offers more of what you would want from an arcade racer. Not everybody will feel the same, but this is just what I feel. In any case, you can't go wrong with this game. Also nice to know that both PS2 and Xbox versions can be played online. Buy or rent? I'd say if you are a fan of racing games or just like to play one here and there, I'd still buy this game. It's worth the money.

By sticking to a formula that it knows well, Rockstar San Diego has pulled of yet another excellent racing title. While still similar in many ways to Midnight Club 2, the two remain sufficiently different that neither negates the other. The new customisation options are also put to good use without ever being shoved down your throat. If you enjoy a very fast, forgiving racer that makes good use of open-ended environments both offline and on, the we heartily recommend Midnight Club 3.

PlayStation 2PSX Extreme
Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition is a very good game that is only held back by its lack of cities and how long it takes to progress from one city to the next. If you're looking for a fun racing game that allows you to customize your ride in almost any way imaginable, then you'll want to put down that Need For Speed Underground box and pick up Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition.

PSPPSX Extreme
As long as you don't get frustrated with the long load times and the cumbersome way in which you must unlock things, Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition is a fantastic game. The sheer amount of content that Rockstar was able to cram into the PSP version is very impressive, and you're sure to get your money's worth. However, the few problems that the game does have, are bad enough to turn some people completely off. If you're the type of person that is able to see the greater good of a game, then Dub Edition is a great purchase. If you get frustrated with a game's flaws easily, you're going to want to give this one a rental to see if it's for you.

Truly an amazing race game, and the best on the PSP, but I simply can't overlook its one glaring flaw. So while this game deserved a nine, I had no choice but to penalize it heavily for its one and only sin. The sin of wasting your time and mine.

Rockstar has almost spoiled the mobile gamer and at the same time overloaded the PSP with this game; certainly the frame rate could be better, as could the loading times (handheld gamers just aren’t used to loading times like this!), the FMV isn’t the best and the menu system sucks exhaust pipe, but the entire PS2/Xbox game seems to be here, the sheer scale of the game is amazing and you have to check that you’re playing it on a handheld - amazing achievement, whichever side of the racing game school you favour, the handling and sense of speed that MC3 supplies will give you plenty of thrills, as long as you have the time.

PSP1UP
In fact, despite the load time issue, an occasional problem with being able to see certain cars and roadside objects that blend into the dark backgrounds, and a slightly reduced sense of speed overall, there's very little to criticize here. The load time especially is something that's difficult to ignore, but don't take that to mean the game is unplayable. It's one of the best games on PSP, and one of the best suited for the hardware. The PSP may not be hurting in the racing game category right now, but MC3 is more than welcome in filling the free roaming gap.

Even with its small share of problems and the exclusion of a few features here and there, Midnight Club: DUB Edition for the PSP is a Must-Have for gamers that are in the mood for arcade racing at its most fun. You’ll be surprised how wonderfully faithful to the console version this game really is so give this a try if you’ve already worn out Ridge Racer or Need for Speed Underground: Rivals.

Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition is unashamedly an all out arcade racer, and a thoroughly enjoyable one at that. It might not offer the depth of the Gran Turismos and Forzas of the world, but few games can deliver the same thrill that MC3 offers for its duration. The game's Career mode will last you up to 20 hours and online play could see you playing this for months to come. Even if you have no interest in car modding, Midnight Club 3 should be experienced for the sheer adrenaline rush that it offers.

We expect the world from Grand Theft Auto creator, Rockstar Games. The company has done so much to redefine a particular sector of the gaming universe that most onlookers figure the rest of their lineup can do the same. So when the publisher teamed with DUB Magazine to produce a title celebrating gorgeous cars moving fast, we expected the game to look just as good as the rides. Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition isn't quite that hot, but it's nevertheless a fantastic arcade racer.

PSPGameSpot
While PSP-owning street fans will likely find Midnight Club 3 to be a genuinely enjoyable game, there's no denying that it feels like a missed opportunity, overall. It seems like Rockstar Leeds was just a touch too obsessed with trying to get the full scope of the console game onto the PSP, and in the process, it had to make a few too many sacrifices in the name of its cause. Some things are forgivable, but the protracted load times, sputtering frame rate, and unimpressive sense of speed all combine to drag down what could have been a great game.

PSPIGN
Is it overly harsh to pound on a game for having dreadful loadtimes? Let me put it this way. The game's clock said I spent 15 hours playing. Assuming that in-between time isn't counted in that figure, and figuring an average of 15 minutes between reloads (saying that sometimes you have to spend a good deal of time racing one opponent in one race, but other times, you blow by the competition in two or three minutes), that means that those minute-long loads added up to an entire hour this weekend of just waiting to play this game. One hour of staring at a black screen with a spinning wheel on it.

XboxEurogamer.net (UK)
All-round, Midnight Club 3 may have more cars, more customisation options, new special moves, look better and sport an enhanced online component this time around, but the lack of a tangible challenge and carelessly implemented progression system rips the soul out of what was an immensely promising series. The things that needed fixing in MC2 have all been addressed, but poor old Rockstar has completely overcompensated in trying to please everyone, and ends up making a more accessible version, but one that feels like it has had its soul removed. Next time they might get the balance right, but for now we're left to reflect on Rockstar's great missed opportunity to sew up this genre once and for all. Worth a rental, but not one to take pride of place in your treasured collection of racing greats.

PlayStation 2Video Game Generation
Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition tries very hard to please all audiences in the hopes that everyone, regardless of background, will want to pick up a copy. For those who want a straightforward, easy pick-up-and-play racing game, we have Arcade Mode; while Career Mode caters to grease monkey types who want to spend an inordinate portion of their gameplay customizing their cars. There's (some pretty bad) emo cuts for the pop-punk crowd and hip-hop or reggae for the "thug lifers". All told, it's a worthy effort, if a fairly flawed one: one of the better looking and handling racing games out there, but there don't seem to be as many locations or tracks to race in as other, comparable games, and the extremely poor direction arrows and schizophrenic lack of focus (is it a customization game, or a racing game? For hip hoppers only, or for more general audiences?) may leave this one sitting on the shelf more often than not.

A couple of weeks ago I picked up Gran Turismo 4 with the intention of reviewing it for the DP Wire. The problem is, I quickly discovered I don't like the Gran Turismo series. I didn't like #3 and I didn't like #2 and I didn't like #1, and I?m not really sure why I thought I'd enjoy #4. It's great eye candy, but eye candy is a dime a dozen on modern consoles. I don't care about the realistic angle of the game; realistic cars at high rates of speed cut me off every day on my morning work commute. Call me old school, but if I'm going to spend my time driving around in a video game, I want to go fast, I want to live dangerously, and I want to be cool. Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition lets me do all those things.

It's been almost a year since Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition hit the shelves, and seeing as the game topped the charts back then it's hardly surprising that it's getting a re-release on both PS2 and Xbox at a lower price point.

PSPPortable Review
After all is said and done, Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition is a really tight racing game with unbearable load times. In this reviewer's opinion, the loads bog the game to nearly unplayable lows. Some may just really love racing games. If so, you might want to give this one a try. If you're just looking for a game to take up some time, try picking up something where the majority of your time will be spend on playing, not loading.

PlayStation 2Gamezine

Overall DUB is fun, even if it does exist solely to suck up our hard-earned coinage. It's entertaining, impressively fast, mildly challenging and rather painless to pick up. It does well as a racing game, but exceeds nowhere else. Maybe next time Rockstar will spend less money on licensing and a bit more on development. Until then, the definitive title for the console racing king is still up for grabs.

PSPDigital Press - Classic Video Games
For those quick handheld trips, this is simply atrocious. It understandably has a lot to load with such a large area and immense graphical detail, but this doesn't seem like it was optimized at all. Races occasionally don't even last as long as the load times. Every move, every selection, and press of a button needs to be thoroughly thought out to ensure it's important enough to wait for. It's a real shame too, because the racing portion of the game is wonderful, with strong AI, bass pushing music, and great cities to drive through. Play times will vary based on the titles user controlled pace, but if you play for 10 hours, at least three of those will be spent looking at a loading screen. If you're patient, this is the second best racing title on the PSP, just behind Ridge Racer. If you're not, stick with Namco's game.
50
PSPEurogamer.net (UK)
On balance, there is fun to be had here, but it's fun that's better spent sat on your favourite couch playing the original. Torturing yourself with frankly ridiculous load times isn't acceptable, nor is the choppy frame rate or the sound stutters. It's important to emphasise that Rockstar is apparently working hard to optimise the game for its European release in September, but it'll have to go some distance to right the wrongs on display here.

PSPGame Revolution
And in the end, what’s here isn’t really worth the insane load times. While it manages to emulate the console version in terms of content, Midnight Club 3 comes to a screeching halt in its technical problems and overly simple racing. Patient gamers may be able to coax some fun out of this ride, but others will want to leave the loading screens in the dust.

Dommage…
