So the sequel is an improved version of the first part, with a new and just as complex world (Although slightly easier to navigate) and a technical upgrade of it even though they are only set one year apart and both use the EGA graphics (but already the title screen shows they’ve put more effort into part two). It’s definitely a must have for all the RPG fans out there.

I expected this to be somewhat disappointing but I was surprised to find that it's actually a lot better than Faery Tale Adventure. The graphics are a little basic but this sort of game needs playability rather than cosmetic touches - a lesson that FTA should have considered! The game is absolutely enormous, and the combat is sufficiently tough to keep you happy. Be careful of wandering about at night! Overall, this is one of the best RPGs to appear on the Megadrive so far. Try not to have a heart attack over the price though.

I'd liked to have seen a greater degree of puzzles/problems and so on at the expense of some of the combat which was excessive at times. Overall, the sequel is an improvement over the original but by no means perfect.

If you're able to get past the simple presentation, primitive interface, and steep learning curve, there's one hell of a meaty game to be had here. The box to M&M boasts over a hundred hours of gameplay, and I can honestly say that this is no empty promise. Be ready to die often, but stick with it and you'll find that this is one adventure worth going on.

In M&MII, you kill some monsters and steal their treasure. And, well, that's about the size of it. There's precious little story, few puzzles of note and, as you control six characters at a time, it's very hard to become attached to any one of them. Oh, there's a bog-standard plot background that would disgrace a pulp sword & sorcery trilogy, but it's only there to justify killing monsters and stealing treasure. In addition, every character class has a personal goal, which generally involves - and here's the clever bit - killing a particular monster and stealing their treasure.

Eigentlich sollte man meinen, altgediente PC-Umsetzungen seien eine handfeste Sache. Pustekuchen! Might and Magic II ist durch und durch behaftet mit gröbsten Fehlern, die zum Teil auch in der Urfassung enthalten waren.
