Moonmist

Mir persönlich sind solche ausgeflippten Gag-Adventures wie "Leather Godesses" zwar noch ein wenig lieber, aber Moonmist ist ohne Zweifel verdammt gut. Es ist neben "Wishbringer" das beste Einsteiger-Adventure von Infocom.

Die C 64-Version leidet unter den nervtötend langsamen Disketten-Zugriffen. Davon einmal abgesehen kann man Moonmist allen Adventure-Fans mit Englisch-Kenntnissen nur empfohlen. Und wenn man das Spiel einmal gelöst hat, wagt man sich einfach an eine andere Variante heran – eine gute Idee, die bei Abenteuerspielen Schule machen sollte.

Der Preis von immerhin 100 Mark ist meiner Ansicht für ein wirklich gutes Programm, das für lange Zeit Spaß bereitet, nicht zu hoch. Es war halt schon immer etwas teurer, einen besonderen Geschmack zu haben!

Compared to Infocom's other games, puzzles are mostly on the easy side, and there's little room for interconnections of actions due to each path's shortness. On the other hand, characterizations of your hosts and the other guests are top notch and the basic story is as classy as it gets. A great Adventure game for newcomers to the mystery genre and a nice diversion for veterans who have already mastered Deadline, Suspect and Witness.

Infocom's parser handles most tasks with ease. The writing tries to convey a sense of the castle, but fails. Much of the description is left to the tour booklet included in the packaging, so the game itself neglects to add those touches necessary to make the locations spring to life.
