Motocross Mania

Pour ce qui est de la maniabilité, les commandes paraissent un étranges au premier abord, mais la prise en main reste assez rapide. Le jeu est très rapide et très fun, mais les sensations de conduite restent tout de même un peu bizarres par moment. De même, les touches par défaut pour exécuter les nombreuses figures que propose le jeu sont assez inappropriées (sauf si vous avez fait 10 ans de guitare :). Les circuits sont par contre très réussis et très variés, avec de très nombreux détails et des surfaces parfois impressionnantes. On ne se lasse pas de se promener au milieu de ces décors, même si on n'a pas tout à fait le sentiment de liberté totale qu'offre Motocross Madness. Les animations sont fluides et plutôt réalistes, même si le jeu demande une machine de bonne qualité pour donner le meilleur de lui-même. Sachez enfin qu'une option vous permettra de créer vos propres «skins» pour vos pilotes, ou encore d'en télécharger sur le net afin d'avoir votre écurie personnalisée.

Die Grafik ist nicht mehr die schönste, die Steuerung ist immer noch etwas zu sensibel. Sonst aber macht es Freude. Die Strecken geraten originell und abwechslungsreich, die Computergegner verdienen den Zusatz "Gegner", das Tuning an der Maschine will wohl überlegt sein und jede Motorklasse fährt sich auch anders. Technisch ist das Rennspiel nicht so perfekt wie die Motocross-Madness-Serie, aber es enthält mehr Ideen. Nur vom Titel, der sich ganz bewusst an das Microsoft-Spiel anlehnt, kann dies nicht behauptet werden.

Motocross Mania is a spill happy free-for-all on dirt tracks. Yes, the invisible walls are distracting, but you will forget about them as your skill improves. It is rated for Everyone.

Motocross Mania gives me what I've come to expect from a PS-X motorcycle game. In other words, it kinda sucks. At least, in this case, you get what you pay for since it's only ten bucks. Whiny sound, choppy animations, and iffy physics simply touch on the negatives of this title. In closing, I'd like to say that I love Kato.

Weder optisch noch spielerisch allerdings liefert Motocross Mania einen Grund, dem Klassenprimus von Microsoft untreu zu werden: Die Grafik ist bestenfalls durchschnittlich und ruckelt teilweise auf dem Testrechner mit GeForce MX-Karte. Auch bei der Umsetzung der verschiedenen Rennmodi muss sich das Spiel dem großen Vorbild geschlagen geben.

Mit reduzierten Details sind die Rennen einigermaßen flüssig, jedoch sehr schwer zu kontrollieren. Jeder Sprung ist ein großes Wagnis, denn die Landung endet nur allzu schnell in einem Sturz. Dieses Problem hat die CPU-Konkurrenz natürlich nicht. Allzu heftig wird es, wenn Sie auch noch Stunts mit irren Tastenkommandos ausführen wollen. Hardcore-Biker mit übermenschlichen Reflexen werden vielleicht dennoch Gefallen an Motocross Mania finden.

When all is said and done, I find it extremely difficult to recommend this game to even the most fanatical of motocross gamers. If you are one of those people who absolutely has to have every PSX motocross game in your library (are there really people like that out there?), I suppose the price-point won’t break your bank. However, for everyone else, hear this: “Do not bite on this puppy.” Hey, for ten bucks, go buy yourself some lunch. It’ll certainly be a lot easier to swallow!

Freestyle courses are as bland as an evening with Barry Manilow, and supercross tracks only demand that you endure a few extra laps. I did enjoy the different speeds of the bike classes, but that's similar to liking a turd sandwich because of the bread.

А случается такое раз в год по обещанию. Игравшие в Motocross Madness 2 меня поймут. Не игравшим лучше не портить вкус и начинать покорять жанр с его высот.

Spelkontrollen är nämligen helt bedrövlig och grafiken ser ut att vara hämtad från någon av de allra tidigaste PlayStation-titlarna. Och misslyckas man med två så viktiga ingredienser blir så klar inte mycket till underhållning kvar. Så även om uppdelningen i motocross, supercross och freestyle lockar, tycker jag definitivt att ni ska se upp för det här spelet.

With so many better supercross games on the market, many of them older and available at similar bargain-basement price points, Motocross Mania has no place in the market. Stick to EA's Supercross series or THQ's Championship Motocross series and try to forget that Motocross Mania even exists.

Motocross Mania est une mauvaise copie de Motocross Madness 2, avec des graphismes vieux de 2 ans, et une réalisation désastreuse, qui se résume à une chute énorme de fluidité de jeu dès l'instant où des adversaires sont à proximité. Ca rame aussi dans les virages. Seules quelques configurations, avec résolution et détails minimaux, s'avèrent relativement jouables. Les motos de cross, c'est du 2 temps (un pour avancer, l'autre pour piler) ?

The fact that Motocross Mania is only a $10 game would normally be a selling point, but I have to say this game just isn’t worth ten bucks. Perhaps things could have been helped by beefing up the multiplayer mode some, as it is really the only bright spot in the game. So please for your own safety and the safety of your families, stay far, far away from Motocross Mania.

The tricks are kinda lame and require too much effort to pull off. Holding down a shoulder button while pressing Up, Left, Up, seems excessive when the only thing you've accomplished is kicking out your left leg. But wait! Holding down two shoulder buttons and doing the same directional presses makes you kick out both legs!!! Different shoulder buttons give you side views of your rider and both buttons together gives you a really senseless point of view from a stationary camera, as you watch your bike recede into the distance.
