Still, with four skill levels and thought-provoking gameplay, Mouse Trap should clock a lot of time on your Intellivision console.

Atari 2600The Video Game Critic
The game only has one notable sound effect, and that's a screech that's heard as your dog snags a cat. Hey, that sounds like a real cat! I just wish they didn't reuse the same sound when a cat catches you. If you're in the process of transforming from dog to mouse when you touch a cat, it's hard to tell who caught who! Mouse Trap is tough, so don't leave any bones "on the table" when working on that final life. Four difficulty levels are available via difficulty switch combinations. Competently programmed and fun, Mouse Trap is a nice addition to the collection.

ColecoVisionDigital Press - Classic Video Games
Overall, Mousetrap was like Cosmic Avenger, Ladybug, and Carnival- early ColecoVision games that really helped to sell the console by delivering great arcade-to-home translations. It was a case of "if you liked the arcade version, then you'll like the home version," and it's still a pleasant game to this day.

Mouse Trap for the Colecovision is a nearly flawless translation with its crisp graphics, fast pacing, outstanding sound effects, and bouncy background music. The one thing that could be improved is the controls. Instead of easily lining up with corridors, your mouse has a tendency to "stuck" on corners. I struggled with the controller and it took its toll on my hands, putting a serious crimp in the fun. Other than that, this game is money.
