My Little Investigations

My Little Investigations is a fan-made adventure game, set in the universe of the TV cartoon My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and with gameplay inspired by the game Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth. The player controls the intellectual unicorn Twilight Sparkle, who finds herself investigating several mysterious crimes.

The player controls Twilight in a third-person view as she investigates crime scenes. She can collect evidence, as well as converse with other characters to learn more about the case. Twilight keeps a record of all evidence and character profiles relevant to the case, and the player is able to combine two pieces of evidence, or a piece of evidence and a character profile, to come up with a new insight regarding the case.

Twilight sometimes finds herself interrogating other characters, and listening to their testimony. The player must press on specific parts of the testimony, or present evidence, to point out contradictions in the testimony and find out more information. There are also "confrontation" segments, a battle of wits where both Twilight and her opponent are given health bars. The opponent's health can be drained by successfully pointing out contradictions with evidence, and if it is drained completely, the opponent breaks and discloses information they've been hiding. Twilight's health bar drops whenever she makes a mistake, and the confrontation must be done anew if it drains out completely.

At times, the player has a partner accompany them. Each partner has special abilities that help Twilight in solving the case, such as providing help in locating hard-to-notice evidence.

The game was originally released with only one chapter, with further chapters planned to be made available in the game, one by one, as they are developed. The game comes with an update program to download new versions when they become available.
