All-Star Baseball is this season?s sports phenom, delivering stylish looks and clutch, long-ball gameplay. As of today, it?s the best baseball game of the year and a must-buy for all sports nuts.

All-Star Baseball '99 also blows the competition away with its presentation, because it uses some stunning high-resolution graphics and is packed with speech samples thanks to Iguana's new Factor 5 speech compression technology. It's so detailed that the players actually have their faces digitally mapped on the polygons. Can you say sweet? Don't hesitate to buy this title...Acclaim just knocked one out of the park.
All in all, this is a really good baseball game. I won't call it great because I was not to happy with the computer AI and some people are going to have trouble hitting the ball. I think that the graphics made this game a joy to look at and the overall gameplay experience made the game fun to play. With a good mix of ground balls, line drives and fly balls, you can really get the feeling of baseball. I think that would some minor adjustments next year, this will move to the level of greatness.
As one of the first baseball games for the N64, I have to say that All-Star is a much better product than Ken Grifffey Baseball. If you're thinking about getting one, my recommendation is to leave The Kid on the shelf and spend your dough on All Star Baseball.
Our historical moment is truly unique: with the player strike now a distant memory, Derek Jeter and Mariah Carey rumors on the cover of the National Enquirer and the McGwire/Sosa homerun chase on the cover of everything else, baseball has been given a new life. Though All Star Baseball won't make all your diamond dreams come true, it is a beautiful looking and solid multiplayer game that's worth playing if you can forgive its lack of realism.
Baseball games in the past were simple games with basic graphics and controls. Sure, they were good, but they weren't anything like real baseball. Lately, baseball games have featured nice graphics and sound but also cryptic control setups that take hours to learn. With All Star Baseball '99, Acclaim has taken the best of both worlds and delivered an easy, intuitive control setup, which allows you to start playing immediately, and graphics that simply must be seen to be believed.
Au final, ASB'99 est un excellent jeu de Baseball. Complet, il saura répondre à toutes les attentes des fans du genre.
Despite its flaws, which lie mainly in character, I'm recommending All-Star Baseball over Ken Griffey and Mike Piazza Baseball. Why? Because it has tight, realistic gameplay, more options than the competition (including a create-a-player mode) and graphics that push the limits of Nintendo 64's hardware. Gamers shouldn't be asked to settle for anything less than a next-generation baseball game, and this is exactly what Iguana and Acclaim have delivered.

I'm going with All-Star over Griffey because of the camera modes and Create-a-Player option. The player and stadium graphics are awesome, but the swing animation seems wrong. Also, some elements aren't intuitive.
Overall I think this is a good base from which Acclaim should try to build a better game. It looks damn cool.... Still, renting a movie is more fun than a game that looks cool but is annoying to play. The next step is to take the great graphics here and make the gameplay equal in quality.

All Star Baseball 99is awesome playability will get Nintendoids new to baseball taking to the plate. Those already hookedill be well impressed. Add to this loads of batting angles and speciality throws, youill see that All Star Baseball shines brighter than other N64 baseball sims.
