Overall, this is a fun game right out of the box. While it does have some level of complication, it’s simple enough to enjoy immediately out of the box. It has nice graphics and sound, which are always a plus when trying to enjoy a game. The multiplayer options ensure the replayability of this game for quite some time. I found virtually nothing to gripe about in this game which is why I happily give it a score of 87.

So loyal Nintendo owners, there is now one less reason to be jealous of the PSX. BattleTanx: Global Assault is easily the match for the famed Twisted Metal series, and is certainly better than TM3 & 4. While not anything really new, this is good, fun, solid vehicular combat at it's current best. Pick up a copy, and serve your queen-lord well. Just be careful if you ask her for a date, the competition is fierce.
We knew Global Assault back when it was still BattleTanx II and we liked it then. So when the final version came out looking sharper and moving smoother we couldn't help but be impressed. From the new tanks to the new powerups to the new battle modes, this game improved in nearly every area over the original and as we said, BattleTanx was a pretty fun game. Even with Vigilante 8: Second Offense on the way, Global Assault is a nice choice for you vehicle combat game of the fall. Pick it up, invite your friends over and be sure to have plenty of snacks for the party that ensues. One word of warning, though. We're very serious about avoiding those super fast tanks, because it drove us absolutely nuts trying to get the hang of it. We're not saying that you're going so fast that you can dodge bullets. What we're saying is, when you're good enough at this game and using powerups, you won't have to.
Adrenaline Vault, The (AVault)
Provided you can overlook the low quality of the visuals, there’s a lot to be said for BattleTanx: Global Assault, which is one of the most enjoyable titles on the N64, despite its back-to-basics style. As a single-player game, it proves to be a mild diversion from the rigors of everyday life, but in multiplayer mode, it’s dangerously addictive, damnably tricky to master, and deliciously good fun for players of all skill levels. Additionally, fans of the original will find that the action has been tweaked and enhanced in many ways, offering a good reason for veterans and newcomers alike to check it out, even if it is a bit lacking in babes.
Battletanx: Global Assault is a solid second effort in the Battletanx series. There are enough new elements to make it more than just a quick cash-in on the success of the original. Theoretically, since the world is full of famous places and landmarks that can be reduced to rubble, gamers can look forward to many more sequels and many more years of urban annihilation.
Total! (Germany)
What more is there too say? Battle Tanx: Global Assault is superb fun for all the family, the main campaign can be played singularly or cooperatively depending on your tastes. A wide selection of multiplayer modes, tanks and power-ups help keep things fresh and the graphics help keep things running smoothly without sacrificing quality. If you can find a second hand copy on Ebay we definitely recommend picking it up!
