ECW Hardcore Revolution

För de som tycker att vanlig WWF-brottning är för mesig kan ECW: Hardcore Revolution alltså vara ganska intressant. Men eftersom det här över lag inte är någonting mer än en omklädd version av WWF Attitude är det i sig inget nödvändigt köp.

ECW Hardcore Revolution ist und bleibt eine faule Mogelpackung, wenn man WWF Attitude hat, bekommt man quasi das gleiche Spiel mit anderen Wrestlern und einem neuem Match das war es. Das nervige Gameplay vertreibt dann wohl auch den größten ECW Fan.

ECW Hardcore Revolution isn't a bad game, by itself. But it in no way represents the style of wrestling that the ECW uses, it has absolutely zero points going for it in the originality department, and the game comes off as a real slap in the face to the federation's hard-core fans. ECW and its fans deserve better than this. ECW's wrestling style isn't the same as the WWF's, and ECW's game shouldn't be like the WWF's, either. Plus, this is the third year that Acclaim has trotted out the same wrestling engine with a few slight tweaks. It's getting very old. Fans of ECW would be better served by waiting for Acclaim's next ECW game, which will use a new (and hopefully more accurate) engine.

No matter how much you enjoy ECW, pro wrestling, or video games, this game sucks. It sucked 2 years ago when it was called "Warzone," 1 year ago when it was called "Attitude," and it still sucks now. If your even thinking about renting this game, stop. Think of pretty butterflies or something. Go to a happy place.....your happy place....

The crowd noise is bizarre - either they're dead silent or going nuts. The fighters tend to repeat the same phrases over and over, usually "ouch!" or "ow!". The controls in the tag team matches are horrendous, and the matches tend to run far too long in general. This game initially impressed me with its extensive option list, but without any muscle behind its gameplay, ECW Hardcore Revolution goes down for the count.
