NFL Quarterback Club 98 is a great game. The game does not have any really bad points to it. If you like football you will probably enjoy this game. From the 98 teams to the teams of old that are given in the game, NFL Quarterback Club 98 is an excellent game.
Overall, this is as complete a football game as we've seen, and easily the best one out for the N64. With super hi resolution graphics (they're set at 640x480, the first time this has been done for a TV) and solid gameplay, NFL Quarterback Club '98 is a great title and worth the money.
Nintendo Power Magazine
It has everything except John Madden and it's fun to play. What else could you want?
NFL Quarterback Club 98 has a solid foundation, but many improvements are needed. It's a very fun game, but football fans and all gamers will notice lots of things that need to be changed. My brother likes this game, but it's frustrating for him too, and he's a football videogame master; he knows a good game when he plays it. The official NFL license really makes a difference, but you have to decide which is more important to you: graphics and logos, or gameplay and Artificial Intelligence.
What it comes down is this: Acclaim's NFL QB Club '98, despite a few minor drawbacks, is a shining example of what's technically possible on Nintendo 64. Additionally, it's got the full NFL license, a hi-res mode that can't be touched by anything else on the market and, AI issues aside, a solid gameplay experience. Recommended.
To be fair, some gamers will enjoy Quarterback Club despite its shortcomings - but only if they don't know or care about realistic football. Those wanting to play a game that simulates even the basics of NFL football will be sorely disappointed by Acclaim's poor-playing but excellent-looking pigskin offering.
