Where did that come from? It's not on the DOS version's credits. Steed joined id in 1996 when Quake was done and Quake2 was already underway.

Interesting, though v1.09 was late (1997).



I wonder if asking John Carmack about clarifying this would be helpful? He'd know. The odd omission of Steed from 1.01-1.06 is very confusing.

AFAIK id's game credits were not really game-specific in the beginning, they just listed whoever worked at the company at the time and the department they worked in, regardless of whether they did actual work in the game. Tim Willits mentioned something like this in that Warren Spector lecture series. So it's possible Steed was hired after Quake was completed, but still got into the credits of the later release.

Well...... if Steed actually worked on quake, there would be boobs on the Vore and shub
