Power Unlimited
Daily Radar
What started life as a gorgeous, fun, innovative PC racing title ended up as roadkill when Acclaim's London studios ported it to the consoles. Confusing, highly aggravating track design and horrific frame rate problems serve to totally destroy everything that was good about this RC car game. What should have been realistic RC car physics translates to oversensitive control that makes spinouts and wall-slamming the norm rather than the exception. While you're stuck in a corner trying to right yourself, the others race ahead, only for you to shudder headfirst into the very next wall, having misread the perplexing course layout. Avoid.
All Game Guide
Re-Volt is missing the most important ingredient of any game: fun. And let's see, the frame rate is terrible, the environments are too large for four measly cars, and pick-ups don't increase the intensity level. The search continues for a spiritual successor to R.C. Pro-Am. Avoid.
