In the last year or so, those of us with PlayStations and Dreamcasts have been perfecting our skateboard Zen. We've learned the art of the manual, multiple vert trick combinations, and crossing gaps off the checklist. Nintendo 64 players may have thought they'd never see the day when they too would be able to enjoy one of the greatest games ever – especially since a port came to Game Boy Advance first – but the time has come. Finally, the Hawk has come back to Nintendo 64!

Even though I don't play many sports games and have never skateboarded, I really enjoyed playing THPS2. With excellent game play and music and decent graphics, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is well worth playing. With over eight parks, 100 tricks and 13 skaters to master, it is well worth owning. Give it a try; you may be surprised.

Gaming Target
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 is a game that shouldn’t be missed by anyone—that’s for sure. But the real question lies in, if you should purchase the N64 version instead of one for a different console. Price wise, the Nintendo 64 title will be more expensive than any of the others that were released previously, but if your console collection it limited to N64, it’s a safe bet that THPS2 is the greatest skating game available to you.

However, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is a game you should no go without, especially if you enjoyed the original. If you don't own a Dreamcast, and you're not purchasing a next-generation console within the next year and you will actually still play your Nintendo 64 over the next few months then I suggest purchasing it. The fact is, THPS2 is still the best skateboarding game on the market. And the N64 version comes with the same addiction factor.

I am a Tony Hawk 2 addict, so I would advise you to get a PS-X just to play this game the way it was meant to be. If that is not an option, though, don’t use it as an excuse to not play this game. Tony Hawk is simply gaming nirvana.
