Description
WCW/NWO Revenge is a sequel to
WCW Vs NWO: World Tour. Like its predecessor, it is a wrestling game using the WCW (World Championship Wrestling) license and featuring a large number of real and fictional wrestlers.
The sequel contains various additions and tweaks to the gameplay system. Wrestlers have their own ring entrances, and actual WCW arenas are used instead of fictional ones. The grappling system of the previous game has been retained, alongside new moves such as multiple reversals, wrestlers stepping over the top rope, being able to run and slide in and out of the ring, and combo moves following a grapple. A championship mode with forty wrestlers participating in a "battle royal" is included. The player also has a limited ability to customize the wrestlers, exchanging their outfits.

Trivia
Referee
The model for the cartoon referee was an actual WCW referee - Brian Hildebrand, who was working under the name of Mark Curtis. Hildebrand would pass away less than 11 months after "Revenge" was released, from stomach and bowel cancer.
