WWF No Mercy takes the number one wrestling game for the N64 and slaps in new matches, backstage areas, and new wrestlers. It's bigger than even Kurt Angle's ego! WWF No Mercy reigns as the new heavyweight champion of N64 wrestlers-it's true, it's true.

Despite my complaints, there’s no denying this is a great game – probably the best wrestling game the current generation of consoles will have. Long after the sun has set on the Nintendo 64, you’ll still be pulling it out of the back of your closet to play a few more rounds of No Mercy.

No Mercy is one of the greatest games you will find on the N64, and arguably the best wrestling game ever created. WWF No Mercy is one of the greatest multiplayer games on the 64, and I highly recommend it to you, the wrestling and gaming fan. You will love it.

Overall, this game is solid. It has the components it needs to be held in the "elite" status of wrestling video games. It also has enough cool additions and improvements. Make it a sure-fire purchase, even if you already have Wrestlemania 2000. With above average graphics, awesome music and sound, and a vast array of gameplay options, this game is a keeper. The Joystick is up.

The continuation of the Nintendo 64 series was in need of some significant changes, and THQ answered the call of all the whiney wrestling fans out there. Borrowing a few moves from the PS-X release, SmackDown, this 64-bit update now features a hefty TV-style presentation that has it all – backstage capers, taunting between rivals, and strange twists by the devil himself, Vince McMahon. Along with this key ingredient, the Career mode offers story branching and the ability to spend cash on clothing, bodyguards, and new moves. THQ also worked wonders with the Create-A-Superstar, allowing players to tweak practically everything. As expected, the gameplay hasn’t changed too terribly much. The CPU AI is a tad more vicious now, but that’s about the extent of it. Despite the familiar ring play, the new material is too cool to pass up.

During the last days of the N64, many wrestling fans felt that the WWF titles had become something of a serialized sports game, with roster changes and few new moves added to a pre-existing formula. In our opinion, if WWF No Mercy is the formula, we would have no problem with THQ going serial. With the huge graphical improvements seen in the WWF Raw for the Xbox and WrestleMania X8 for the GameCube are any indication, a next millennium version of No Mercy would be an answer to our pleadings.

WWF No Mercy drips of greatness. Never before has the WWF been captured so well. Players will actually feel like they are a part of it all. The game features over 50 WWF Superstars, plus a number of hidden characters which even includes the Legendary Andre the Giant. This has been confirmed as the last wrestling game on the N64 to feature this engine, so it may take some time before we see a sequel, even if AKI and THQ have something special planned at Gamecube's launch. Every fan owes it to themselves to pick this game up. Even the casual WWF watcher or gamer will enjoy this, and thats the Bottom Line, 'cuz Stone Cold Said So!

No Mercy is a terrific game from top to bottom. The game mechanics are sound, the animation is fantastic, the characters are very responsive and there's a tremendous amount of game modes. If you're a wrestling fan, or even just a fan of fighting-style games, this should definitely be on your list.

Though not perfect, No Mercy is easily the best wrestling title on the market today. It has the solid gameplay and is rife with features to keep wrestling fans very happy. There are still some issues with the aged game engine and the computer AI, but that is all overshadowed by its excellent career and create-a-player modes. In Wrestlemania 2000, THQ had the best wrestling game ever made and it's no coincidence that its sequel follows suit.

THQ once again has a solid wrestling titles on their hands. With such new additions as the ladder match, more in-depth championship modes, and new wrestlers, WWF No Mercy is definitely a good investment even with some of the AI problems found in the game.

WWF: No Mercy is a really good wrestling game. However, its superiority over Wrestlemania 2000 is marginalized due to technical limitations. Wrestlemania 2000 used nearly all of the N64's potential, leaving No Mercy little room to exceed its predecessor. It's really more of an upgrade than anything else...but a damn good one.

The lack of the Hell in the Cell is distressing especially when it was included in Smackdown 2 for the Playstation (bloody wrong to faithful N64 gamers I tell you) and the absence of the Big Show is wrong, especially if you're going to include that waste of space Mark Henry. No Mercy is fun to play but I wouldn't recommend going out and buying it if you purchased Wrestlemania 2000, the additions really aren't that amazing - just a little more fun.

In No Mercy, everything but the political, everything but the significance, everything but the carefully considered, is as real as it gets. What this adds up to is a great game that is an even better indicator of how complicated our "entertainment" has become.

Game Vortex
Like I just said, it came down to game speed for the perfect score. Although that didn't deliver, the rest of WWF No Mercy did. Enjoy, and don't show any mercy playing your friends!

Any other complaints with No Mercy are nothing more than nit-picking (why does Chris Benoit hook the leg when he does a crippler crossface? Why does the computer try to pin me in a cage match?) and take nothing away from the game's over-all success at providing the ultimate WWF wrestling experience. If you’re a wrestling fan and own an N64 then WWF No Mercy is a must buy, and that’s the bottom line, cause EP says so!

If you're still drooling over Wrestlemania 2000, then the roster updates, graphical refinements, bonus secrets, and new modes found in WWF No Mercy should be more than enough to keep you going for another year.

The Next Level
If you liked WM2K, you'll like No Mercy; and by all means, you should. Despite the fact if No Mercy's improvements live up to your expectations, when you look within the core of the game, you'll discover that it retains its original atmosphere and lives up to being a real slobberknocker.
