How long you play Nail'd all depends on what kind of gamer you are. If you hate typical racing games, you're sure to enjoy how easy, fun and refreshing Nail'd is. If you like racing games, you'll love how fast you can go and how far the game takes its jumps. If you're into smashing stuff, Nail'd lets you smash lots of stuff, people included! Bottom line, Nail'd has everything a gamer could want: simple controls, lots of action, lots of gallows humor and lots of fun. Anyone who can keep track of what 3 individual buttons do can play this game and everyone will enjoy Nail'd, even spectators.

nail’d is a blast. It’s a mildly flawed blast but a blast nonetheless. It’s definitely recommended for just about anyone who wants a massive, fulfilling adrenaline rush. …finally. I can wholeheartedly recommend a title that isn’t expected to be huge and isn’t among the mammoth franchises that hit like a ton of bricks in the past few months. This is one hell of a stress reliever.

Nail'd would be right at home in the arcade scene of yesterday, what it lacks in innovation and depth it makes up for in blissful speed and unabashed fun. Best played with others (you've got to trash talk you know), Techland's dirty racer is an unexpected favorite of the year. Go out and get Nail'd, you won't regret it.

2010 has been a weird year for racing games, with very little being released before the end of October. It's been worth the wait, though, as NFS Hot Pursuit and GT5 have fulfilled a lot of people's needs for blistering-fast arcade racing as well as the picky apex-finding sim racing. But out of nowhere comes nail'd, which is so ridiculous that it actually makes a game like Need for Speed look like a sim, but this game's core is still all about the fun of arcade racing. Even though there's almost a complete lack of strategy required to race, some wonky visuals on the console editions, and a conspicuous lack of split-screen play, I can still offer a pretty hearty recommendation for nail'd.

We're hoping people do discover what a gem Nail'd is, because with a bustling online community the multiplayer could become addictive despite the game setup issues. Even so, the game is a wonderfully unique racer that really stands out even based solely on its single-player component. If you have even an inkling of interest in this type of game and want to see how fast it really can be, we doubt you will be disappointed with it.

It’s rare for me that I play a racing game over and over, as I usually just get bored with them unless they have some sort of hook to make me come back for more. With nail’d, it was easy. It’s really hard to explain, but people who have played it will know what I mean. There’s just something wonderfully crazy about the game that keeps it fresh and interesting. I highly recommend you give it a test drive (cheesy pun most certainly intentional).

It’s pretty cool and quite fun. But it sets limitations on itself that hold it back from being totally awesome. Is it $40 worth of coolness? That’s a tough call because of its flaws. It’s quite well done for the most part.

Though Nail’d might not offer a deep career mode, or crazy over the top stunts, it nails an incredible sense of speed and has out of this world courses that might have you reaching for the nearest altitude sickness pills.

Nail’d has huge potential and I managed to say that almost every time I tested a game this year. It could have had spectacular stunts, varied events, more tracks or even a real editor to grant complete creative freedom for players (does anyone remember Stunts?). The physics also need adjustments, but there are also shiny parts in terms of absurd speeds. The landscape is also varied and the control is very well done, even on the keyboard (we are talking about a multi-platform game, after all). Still, the multiplayer side has many failures, plus an acute lack of players that at least could whine on the official forums so that the producers get to work on patches. Being limited to single-player, nail’d doesn’t stand chances for a long stint on your PC, but it has an adrenaline filled offer.

For some, Nail’d simply being the fastest damned game on the market won’t be enough to sell them on picking up the controller and giving it a go. That’s understandable, as there are deeper and more polished experiences in both the simulation and arcade categories. But despite its lack of any real innovation or complexity, Nail’d succeeds in being one of the most approachable and entertaining racers of the year. Just temper your expectations accordingly, hit the gas and ignore the brakes, and you’ll have one hell of a ride.

The future for Nail’d looks rather bleak. In competing with strong titles like Motorstorm its in a competitive market, and when games as good as Blur fail to sell its a warning sign to other devs. It must be said that despite some of its shortcomings I had a good deal of fun with Nail’d. It reminded me of one of those classic coin-ops that threw every graphic trick in the book to get your money. Like the best moments of Hydro Thunder, Ridge Racer or even Outrun, the highlights of Nail’d are when you forget about everything but the race..and dodging the hot air balloon too obviously.

Xbox 360D+PAD Magazine
For those first two hours alone, though, Nail’d was a very humourous and downright loopy experience. I can’t recommend it enough if you can understand how unwieldy controls can actually make a racing game better. Otherwise, I suggest you stay away from Nail’d entirely, as its unintentional tendencies towards being completely off-the-wall will do nothing to appease your simulation sensibilities.

Nail’d isn’t an altogether bad game - when things are going as they should and you aren’t stuck restarting all the time, it can be a fun game to pass a half hour with at a time. However, it lacks the depth in either its gameplay or mode selection to offer much long-term fun. It’s the very definition of a game that is perfect for a rental because it isn’t worth buying by anyone because there’s only enough content here for anyone to enjoy it for a few days.

Xbox 360G4 TV: X-Play
Complaints aside, there’s a great foundation for creating a franchise around Nail’d. The gameplay is simple and direct, the track design is great and the number of events on the disc is impressive. With a little more polish and more game types, the Nail’d series could carve out a niche in the gaming world. If you like over-the-top, fast-paced racing, then Nail’d could very well be the game for you.

Xbox 360Video Game Talk
nail’d is often a frustrating game to play due to the problematic physics engine. It also doesn’t convey much of a personality as an arcade racer; applying a dated presentation to lackluster arcade racing doesn’t make for a tremendous experience. However, the game does have a slightly more attractive MSRP ($50) than most releases and the multiplayer modes are entertaining (if you can find people to play). Unfortunately, the peculiar physics around crash behavior and the general lack of depth in the single player game makes this game hard to recommend as a purchase. If you are interested in playing a new arcade racer, do yourself a favor and rent nail’d before you purchase it.

Windowsvideogamer.com
Nail'd impresses in its opening moments and is fun to hop into for a quick burst, but once you've seen a few of the sights you're left with a game that struggles to excite where it really matters. The vehicles don't have the required connection with the road, which ultimately makes for a shallow racing experience.

An arcade racer doesn't need much depth, but this is a bridge too far. The days that speed were just the highlight of a game are long gone. Maybe the Polish Techland still lives in the 90s, but as developer of - amongst other things - Call of Juarez they should know better. A sad mistake.

Xbox 360GameSpot
Nail'd is, in a word, extreme. In this off-road racing game, you share the sky with jumbo jets, leap over speeding trains, and ride along platforms suspended in the air by helicopters. These experiences do provide some adrenaline-drenched excitement, but Nail’d is not a white-knuckle racer where your every move is crucial. Loose physics and the inconsistent way your vehicle reacts to collisions with the environment make Nail'd more of a passive and often frustrating experience where you're just along for the ride. A weak boost system and speedy but strangely unconvincing visuals put an additional damper on the excitement. Falling hundreds of feet through the air is fun the first few times, but without a solid game to support them, the cheap thrills that Nail'd offers are quickly forgotten.

You can see some fun poking out here and there in Nail’d. The in-air physics work largely as advertised and add some excitement, but the game still feels surprisingly boring most of the time. Without the benefit of exploration for new routes or any meaningful challenge to vehicle handling though, Nail'd gets tedious fast and stays there.

PlayStation 3Digital Chumps
Despite calling out the good, established titles in the ATV/MTX landscape, this game failed to "play up" to those standards, definitely didn't surpass them. The presentation elements are a big downside, but could be permissible if the gameplay was good. But there are so many flaws (questionable physics for the MotoX bike, lack of good "racing" elements, and horrid level design) that this game just isn't consistent. There are a few moments of fun to be had, but they are few and far between and do not constitute the $50 price tag.

Xbox 360Brash Games
Nail’d smacks of a tech demo given a promotion. It runs fantastically, it looks nice, and it has potential. Its functionality as a racer, however, is limited, because it has few of the basics that we’ve come to expect over the years: tight racing, bustling tracks and AI that can actually compete. If you can get online with a bunch of other people, then great, I suspect it will be a good deal of fun, but I also have the nagging suspicion that you’ll be hard pushed to find too many people online at once.
50
Xbox 360Operation Sports
Though Nail’d is one of the more entertaining games of the holiday season, it still misses on so many marks. Without the multiplayer experience and smart AI, the game really falls off and misses out on what could have been a great racing game. But still, for the smaller price tag, off-road racing fans should still check the game out.

Xbox 360God is a Geek
Nail’d is a poor game hiding the seed of a really decent, fun arcade racer. Excellent and challenging track design is hampered by a poor handling model and graphics that are as often archaic as they are pretty. It is also a game that tries to do too much, without really succeeding at anything. The game never clearly tells you whether it wants to be a stunt racer, a flat out speedster or a twisting and turning off-road racer. Stunt Mode is included but not committed to, with no tricks included. The game is fast but the handling is plain. The package just does not glue together. It is not a massive reach to imagine the production meeting where, on the blackboard, these ideas looked like a cool game just waiting to happen. It is a shame then that, despite occasional good execution, Nail’d doesn’t come together in any meaningful way.
