Once again facing off against its toughest opponent, the GameCube controller, 2K3 looks to try to dominate. If you like realistic basketball titles with sharp graphics and a plethora of options then pick up NBA 2K3. Just don’t forget that you can turn off the commentary. This game rocks the virtual arena and no basketball fan should be without it.

NBA 2K3 is a great simulation of basketball, so any Xbox owner with an interest in the sport couldn't go wrong with it. The half-court elements of the game are executed particularly well as you'll see when trying to break down the defense by going into the post, driving through the lane, or setting up a perimeter shot--it all adds up to gameplay with real depth. The game does have a few shortcomings, but they're not the sort that dramatically hinder gameplay; rather, they encourage you to play NBA 2K3 as a pure simulation.

There's still a lingering problem with the inconsistency in shot percentages and in the passing game, as well as a few nagging issues with basic dribbling movement when you're trying to navigate through a crowd of defenders. Still, in the grand scheme of things, these problems will largely go unnoticed by all but the hardest of the hard-core basketball fans, making NBA 2K3 a worthwhile purchase for anyone interested in the sport.

NBA2K3 has shown significant improvement from the old Dreamcast versions. New features have been added to the gameplay that make the gaming experience more realistic to mirror real NBA action. Doch Gott sei dank kommen diese nicht allzu oft vor. NBA 2K3 ist es also durchaus wert gekauft zu werden.

Play modes include franchise, two-on-two street, season, playoffs, tournament, practice, on-line, and a "Sega Sports Challenge" mode that lets you post your statistics to an on-line ranking board to see how you compare with other players. NBA 2K3 is not nearly as fun as the previous version. I'm going back to NBA Live, because this stinks.
